Sialic acid (SA) is overexpressed on cell membranes of tumor cells, and increased serum SA concentration has been observed in tumor-bearing patients. Herein, a series of lanthanide-containing bimetallic complexes (TDA-M-Lns) for targeting SA were prepared via coordination among luminescent lanthanide ions (Ln = Tb, Eu, Dy, or Sm), metal ion quenchers (M = Cu or Co), and the organic ligand 2,2'-thiodiacetic acid (TDA). SA can competitively coordinate with Ln, resulting in the "signal-on" of the Ln.

Xanthine oxidase (XO) plays a vital role in inducing hyperuricemia and increasing the level of superoxide free radicals in blood, and is proved as an important target for gout. Chrysoeriol (CHE) is a natural flavone with potent XO inhibitory activity (IC = 2.487 ± 0.

Reactive oxygen species production is associated with sensitivity to chemotherapy, but the underlying mechanisms are not completely understood. Here, we investigated the mechanisms contributing to Sun resistance using the RCC cell lines ACHN and 786-O.

The ultrasound-assisted aqueous two-phase extraction (UA-ATPE) was first employed to develop an effective technique for simultaneous extraction and preliminary purification of synephrine, naringin, and neohesperidin from L. fruitlets. Five types of ethanol/salts of aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) were investigated and then the extraction conditions were further optimized using single-factor experiments and response surface methodology (RSM) via Box-Behnken Design (BBD).

However, it still remains challenging to design dynamic hydrogels with fast gelation and high stability for protecting cells under flow due to the slow formation and exchange of most dynamic bonds. Here, a novel dual-crosslinked hydrogel system with fast dynamic crosslinks is developed by using methacrylate chitosan (CHMA) and aldehyde functionalized hyaluronate (oxidized HA, OHA).

The E2 glycoprotein of CSFV is the main target for neutralizing antibodies. Recently, the replicon of alphaviruses, such as Semliki Forest virus (SFV), has been developed as replicative expression vectors for gene delivery.
