Effect of Statin Therapy on Diabetes Retinopathy in People With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Meta-Analysis.

We tried to find the relationship between statin and diabetes retinopathy (DR) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). We searched the databases of PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library for eligible studies reporting on the relationships between statin use and DR, from inception to September 25, 2020. The terms searched including Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2, Hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA Reductase Inhibitors, and Diabetic Retinopathy.

The Efficacy of Non-Vitamin K Antagonist Oral Anticoagulants in the Prevention of Left Atrial Thrombus in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation Compared With Vitamin K Antagonists: A Meta-Analysis.

Background: There is still a paucity of data on the efficacy of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in the prevention of left atrial thrombus (LAT) formation before cardioversion or catheter ablation. To assess the efficacy of NOACs in the prevention of LAT in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) compared with vitamin K antagonists (VKAs), we conducted a meta-analysis.

Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases.

Roles of neural stem cells in the repair of peripheral nerve injury.

Currently, researchers are using neural stem cell transplantation to promote regeneration after peripheral nerve injury, as neural stem cells play an important role in peripheral nerve injury repair. This article reviews recent research progress of the role of neural stem cells in the repair of peripheral nerve injury. Neural stem cells can not only differentiate into neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes, but can also differentiate into Schwann-like cells, which promote neurite outgrowth around the injury.
