Al-Mg alloys are widely used as important engineering structural materials in aerospace engineering, transportation systems, and structural constructions due to their low density, high specific strength, corrosion resistance, welding capability, fatigue strength, and cost-effectiveness. However, the conventional Al-Mg alloys can no longer fully satisfy the demands of practical production due to difficulties caused by many defects. The high strength of Al-Mg alloys as non-heat treatment precipitation-strengthened alloys is achieved primarily by solid solution strengthening along with work hardening rather than precipitation strengthening.

The initiation and formation of the "pinhead" is the key node in growth process of Ophiocordyceps sinensis (Chinese Cordyceps). The research on the mechanism of changes in this growth stage is the basis for realizing the industrialization of its artificial cultivation. Clarifying the mechanisms of pinhead initiation is essential for its further application.

As an important part of die steels, hot-work die steels are mainly used to manufacture molds made of solid metal or high-temperature liquid metal from heating to recrystallization temperature. In view of the requirements for mechanical properties and service life for hot-work die steel, it is conducive to improve the thermal fatigue resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance of hot work die steel. In this review, the main failure modes of hot-work die steel were analyzed.

Chinese cordyceps was one of most valuable traditional Chinese medicine fungi. To elucidate the molecular mechanisms related to energy supply mechanism involved in the initiation and formation of primordium in Chinese cordyceps, we performed the integrated metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses of it at pre-primordium period, primordium germination period and after-primordium period, respectively. Transcriptome analysis showed that many genes related to 'starch and sucrose metabolism', 'fructose and mannose metabolism', 'linoleic acid metabolism', 'fatty acids degradation' and 'glycerophospholipid metabolism' were highly up-regulated at primordium germination period.

The asexual form of Ophiocordyceps sinensis has been controversial, but various morphologic mycelium appeared when O. sinensis was cultured under experimental conditions. To explore the generation mechanism of morphologic mycelium, developmental transcriptomes were analyzed from three kinds of mycelium (aerial mycelium, hyphae knot, and substrate mycelium).

A regio- and stereoselective nickel-catalyzed three-component coupling reaction of aldehydes, 1,3-dienes, and alkenylzirconium reagents was realized. The ligand- and additive-free protocol afforded a convenient approach to the synthesis of skipped diene compounds bearing various functionals (e.g.

An efficient Cu-catalyzed C-H alkenylation with acyclic and cyclic vinyl boronates was realized for the first time under mild conditions. The scope of the vinyl borons and the compatibility with functional groups including heterocycles are superior than Pd-catalyzed C-H coupling with vinyl borons, providing a reliable access to multisubstituted alkenes and dienes. Subsequent hydrogenation of the product from the internal vinyl borons will lead to installation of secondary alkyls.

A copper-catalyzed three-component reaction of terminal alkynes, TsN, and tertiary allylic amines is developed toward the one-pot synthesis of α-allylic amidines. The product was synthesized on gram scale under 1 mol % of catalyst loading. Transformations of products into alkenyl amine and other nitrogen-containing compounds are demonstrated without any loss of stereochemical information.

Objective: To investigate whether C-reactive protein (CRP) is a biomarker of malignant ventricular arrhythmias (MVA) occurring in non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) patients with Global Registry of Acute Coronary events (GRACE) scores < 140.

Methods: A total of 1450 NSTEMI patients were included in this study. Hs-CRP blood levels were measured via a turbidimetric immunoassay after confirming the diagnosis of NSTEMI with GRACE scores < 140.

Background: Coronary calcification is a major determinant of stent underexpansion and subsequent adverse events. This study aimed to evaluate the acute- and long-term outcomes of rotational atherectomy (RA) followed by cutting balloon (CB) versus plain balloon before drug-eluting stent implantation for calcified coronary lesions.

Methods: From June April 2013 to March 2016, a total of 127 patients with moderately or severely calcified coronary lesions were treated with RA.

Article Synopsis
  • STAT3 signaling is crucial in gastric cancer (GC) progression through its interaction with EZH2, which enhances STAT3 activity via increased tyrosine phosphorylation.
  • Research showed that high levels of both STAT3 and EZH2 in GC tissues correlate with poor patient outcomes and advanced disease stages.
  • Targeting the STAT3-EZH2 relationship may improve treatment effectiveness, as combining siSTAT3 with an EZH2 inhibitor increased cancer cell apoptosis.

Message Queuing Telemetry Transport for Sensor Networks (MQTT-SN) and Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) are two protocols supporting publish/subscribe models for IoT devices to publish messages to interested subscribers. Retransmission mechanisms are introduced to compensate for the lack of data reliability. If the device does not receive the acknowledgement (ACK) before retransmission timeout (RTO) expires, the device will retransmit data.

Objective: To study the time between the onset and diagnosis of Dengue fever and its influencing factors in China.

Methods: Data were obtained from the Infectious Disease Surveillance System (IDSS). Descriptive analysis was performed for the time interval while nonparametric tests and logistic regression analysis were used to study the related influencing factors.

KEY MESSAGE : BcMF11 as a non-coding RNA gene has an essential role in pollen development, and might be useful for regulating the pollen fertility of crops by antisense RNA technology. We previously identified a 828-bp full-length cDNA of BcMF11, a novel pollen-specific non-coding mRNA-like gene from Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L. ssp.

Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization (TACE) is the first line of treatment in inoperable hepatocellular carcinoma. Magnetic affinity beads can be used to extract peptides from un-fractionated serum samples. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) can detect the presence and the molecular mass of peptides.

Aim: To investigate the role of enhancer of zeste homologue 2 (EZH2) and STAT6 immunohistochemistry in the evaluation of clinical stages and prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC).

Methods: The expression patterns were examined by immunohistochemistry in both tumor and adjacent non-neoplastic tissues of 119 CRC patients who underwent operation during the time period from 2002 to 2004.

Results: The positive rates of EZH2 and STAT6 in CRC cases were 69.

Objective: To study the clinical efficiency of metallic stent implantation in combination with three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with portal vein tumor thrombus.

Methods: 22 cases of HCC patients with portal vein tumor thrombus were devided into 2 groups: 10 patients (group A) recieved stent implantation in combination with conformal radiation therapy, 12 patients (group B) recieved stent implantation and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization. The adverse reactions, and liver function before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.

Iliac artery rupture is a rare complication of post-stenting angioplasty and can lead to massive life-threatening haemorrhage. Conventional surgery can not repair the damaged vessel easily and may cause substantial blood loss and high operative morbidity and mortality. We report our experience with a self-expanding covered endoprosthesis for endovascular repair of the rupture of an iliac artery caused by stenting angioplasty.
