To assess whether infertile women's psychological conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and stress, are associated with in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) outcomes, we systematically searched for relevant articles from January 1, 2004, to March 29, 2024, in five databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and PsycINFO. A random-effects model was used to examine pooled standardized mean differences (SMD) and 95% confidence interval (CI). A total of 29 articles fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were included in this meta-analysis.

C1orf115 has been identified in high-throughput screens as a regulator of multidrug resistance possibly mediated through an interaction with ATP-dependent membrane transporter ABCB1. Here we show that C1orf115 not only shares structural similarities with FACI/C11orf86 to interact with clathrin adaptors to undergo endocytosis, but also induces ABCA1 transcription to promote cholesterol efflux. C1orf115 consists of an N-terminal intrinsically disordered region and a C-terminal α-helix.

Currently, the development of suitable transition metal chalcogenides (TMDs) for aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) is plagued by the terrible conductivity and electrochemical properties. Herein, a one-step ball milling method is applied to enhance the conductivity of commercial MnTe cathode by constructing three dimensional (3D) carbon nanotubes (CNTs) interweaved MnTe nanoparticles (abbreviated as MnTe@CNTs), which can achieve ultrafast ion conduction. The stable electrochemistry properties benefit from the synergistic effects between layered MnTe and 3D CNTs, which can improve the electrons/ions diffusion kinetics as cycling.

The existing calculation method for the surrounding rock pressure of shallow buried bias tunnel fails to account for the impact of the progressive failure characteristics of the surrounding rock and slope creep, thereby neglecting the additional pressure arising from slope creep. Therefore, the progressive instability failure mode of the surrounding rock of shallow buried bias tunnel was obtained by numerical simulation. Based on this, the theoretical analysis model of the additional pressure of shallow buried bias tunnel was established, and the calculation formula of the additional pressure was derived.

Introduction: The meticulous management of risk factors is paramount in the effective control of allergic rhinitis (AR), playing a significant role in diminishing both the direct medical expenditures and the indirect economic impacts associated with the condition. Presently, there is a notable deficiency in research concerning the risk factors for severe AR, as well as the correlation between serum allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) levels and the severity of AR symptoms.

Methods: The study utilized data from a cross-sectional epidemiological survey conducted in Guangzhou, China, from April 2023 to March 2024, involved 638 AR patients.

Article Synopsis
  • X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP) is a hereditary eye disease leading to vision loss due to issues with photoreceptors, primarily caused by mutations in the RPGR gene.
  • Researchers studied retinal organoids derived from both normal and RPGR-mutant human cells over four developmental stages using advanced single-cell RNA sequencing.
  • The findings offer a valuable data resource for understanding RPGR-related retinal degeneration and could help in developing targeted therapies for this condition.

Exactly why human infection of avian influenza A virus H7N9 causes more severe disease in the elderly remains elusive. In this study, we found that H7N9 PB1-F2 is a pathogenic factor in 15-18-month-old BALB/C mice (aged mice) but not in 6-8-week-old young adult mice (young mice). Recombinant influenza A virus with H7N9 PB1-F2-knockout was less pathogenic in aged mice as indicated with delayed weight loss.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates how brittle rock behaves under stress, particularly in railway tunnels, using uniaxial compression tests and acoustic emission monitoring at various loading rates.
  • - Results indicate that higher loading rates enhance rock strength and extend elastic deformation while changing fracture patterns from shear to tensile types.
  • - Acoustic emission activity increases significantly with higher loading rates, showing that tensile fractures exhibit greater intensity than shear fractures, and early warning indicators for potential rock failure are identified.

New biomarkers for early diagnosis of gastric cancer (GC), the second leading cause of cancer-related death, are urgently needed. IGFBP7, known to play various roles in multiple tumours, is complexly regulated across diverse cancer types, as evidenced by our pancancer analysis. Bioinformatics analysis revealed that IGFBP7 expression was related to patient prognosis, tumour clinicopathological characteristics, tumour stemness, microsatellite instability and immune cell infiltration, as well as the expression of oncogenes and immune checkpoints.

Deep learning-based denoising of low-dose medical CT images has received great attention both from academic researchers and physicians in recent years, and has shown important application value in clinical practice. In this work, a novel two-branch and multi-scale residual attention-based network for low-dose CT image denoising is proposed. It adopts a two-branch framework structure, to extract and fuse image features at shallow and deep levels respectively, to recover image texture and structure information as much as possible.

Excessive production of waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) poses an ecological challenge, which necessitates developing technologies to extract the values from end-of-life PET. Upcycling has proven effective in addressing the low profitability of current recycling strategies, yet existing upcycling technologies operate under energy-intensive conditions. Here we report a cascade strategy to steer the transformation of PET waste into glycolate in an overall yield of 92.

Acteoside (ACT) was the main bioactive components in phenylethanoid glycosides of Cistanche tubulosa. Currently, the development of an efficient method for selectively separating ACT was crucial. Consequently, yolk-shell magnetic mesoporous carbon (YSMMC) was synthesized as a nanofiller to prepare molecularly imprinted membranes (ACT-MIMs) with instant noodles-like structure for selectively separating ACT.

Unfavorable mobility ratios in heterogeneous reservoirs have resulted in progressively poor waterflood sweep efficiency and diminishing production. In order to address this issue, our study has developed amphiphilic-structured nanoparticles aimed at enhancing the microscopic displacement capability and oil displacement efficiency. First, the transport process of Janus nanoparticles in porous media was investigated.

Backgrounds: With the advent of the big data era, hospital information systems and mobile care systems, among others, generate massive amounts of medical data. Data mining, as a powerful information processing technology, can discover non-obvious information by processing large-scale data and analyzing them in multiple dimensions. How to find the effective information hidden in the database and apply it to nursing clinical practice has received more and more attention from nursing researchers.

  • Class G oil well cement is designed for high-temperature environments, but low dosages of polycarboxylic retarders can lead to abnormal gelation phenomena (AGP) when temperatures exceed 120 °C.
  • The study identified that abnormal gelation is linked to premature hydration, which results in higher calcium hydroxide and calcium silicate hydrate levels compared to non-gelatinous areas.
  • To address AGP, a new functionalized copolymer retarder called "PAIANS" was developed, aiming to enhance cementing security.

To prevent patients from being exposed to excess of radiation in CT imaging, the most common solution is to decrease the radiation dose by reducing the X-ray, and thus the quality of the resulting low-dose CT images (LDCT) is degraded, as evidenced by more noise and streaking artifacts. Therefore, it is important to maintain high quality CT image while effectively reducing radiation dose. In recent years, with the rapid development of deep learning technology, deep learning-based LDCT denoising methods have become quite popular because of their data-driven and high-performance features to achieve excellent denoising results.
