This study aims to explore the long-term effects on objective sleep parameters and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) following different therapeutic interventions for OSA. : Data from patients with moderate-to-severe OSA were retrospectively collected from a medical center and a regional hospital, spanning from December 2011 to August 2018.

Traditional sources of NK cells, such as the peripheral blood, are limited by availability and donor variability. In addition, in vitro expansion can lead to functional exhaustion and gene editing challenges.

Although the use of mobile diet-tracking apps has been increasing, the reliability of nutrition apps in tracking saturated fats and cholesterol across different nations remains underexplored.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the reliability and consistency of nutrition apps focusing on saturated fat and cholesterol intake across different national contexts.

Few studies included objective blood pressure (BP) to construct the predictive model of severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). This study used binary logistic regression model (BLRM) and the decision tree method (DTM) to constructed the predictive models for identifying severe OSA, and to compare the prediction capability between the two methods. Totally 499 adult patients with severe OSA and 1421 non-severe OSA controls examined at the Sleep Medicine Center of a tertiary hospital in southern Taiwan between October 2016 and April 2019 were enrolled.

Methods: A comprehensive dataset was utilized, encompassing eight-year longitudinal personal hearing threshold levels (HTLs) as well as information on seven personal variables and two environmental variables to establish NIHL predicting models through the ANN technique. Three subdatasets were extracted from the afirementioned comprehensive dataset to assess the advantages of the present study in NIHL predictions.
Introduction: The influence of deranged body composition on stage I/II hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after surgery remains undetermined. The current study aimed to investigate the impact of low skeletal muscle bulk and disturbed body fat mass on the recurrence outcome of stage I/II HCC patients undergoing liver resection. The associated metabolomic alterations were also assessed.

Aims: This study aimed to estimate the nationwide prevalence and incidence of IBD and identify its noticeable trends in Taiwan between 2016 and 2020.
Methods: A retrospective study by analyzing the data from the National Health Insurance Research Database of Taiwan.
Background: There is a great need for training and education in the nursing curriculum to improve nurses' knowledge and skills to provide oral health care.
Methods: A pilot study was conducted to evaluate the use of a virtual reality (VR)-based Oral Health Care Learning System to train geriatric oral health care among nursing students. Fifty undergraduate nursing students were randomly assigned to experimental (n = 25) and control (n = 25) groups.
Background: Both sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBDs) and HIV infection can interfere with normal sleep architecture, and also cause physical and psychological distress. We aimed to understand the differences in the obstructive patterns, sleep architecture, physical and psychological distress when compared between people living with HIV (PLWH) and matched the severity of SRBDs controls.
Methods: A comparative study using matched case-control design was conducted.
Background: Drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) is used for evaluating upper airway anatomy and determining airway obstruction patterns. It is typically performed with the patient in the supine position. Airway collapse severity is influenced by body position and level of consciousness; the resultant dynamic changes may vary across patients.

Many computer-aided systems have been developed to assist clinicians in detecting colorectal lesions by analyzing colonoscopy images. However, fisheye-lens distortion and light reflection in colonoscopy images can substantially affect the clarity of these images and their utility in detecting polyps.

Hence, this study engineered a combinatorial nanosystem containing neutrophil-targeted roflumilast-loaded nanocarriers and non-targeted fusidic acid-loaded nanoparticles to enable the dual mitigation of bacteremia-associated inflammation and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection. The targeted nanoparticles were developed by conjugating anti-lymphocyte antigen 6 complex locus G6D (Ly6G) antibody fragment on the nanoparticulate surface.

Human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) are successfully used to derive skin cells, but the field is still far from meeting the goal of creating skin containing appendages, such as hair follicles and sweat glands. Here, the goal is to generate skin organoids (SKOs) from human skin fibroblast or placental CD34+ cell-derived hiPSCs.

Background: Digital health literacy (DHL) enables healthy decisions, improves protective behaviors and adherence to COVID-19 measures, especially during the era of the "infodemic", and enhances psychological well-being.
Objective: We aimed to explore the mediating roles of fear of COVID-19, information satisfaction, and the importance of online information searching on the association between DHL and well-being.
Methods: A cross-sectional web-based survey was conducted among 1631 Taiwanese university students, aged 18 years and above, from June 2021 to March 2022.
Interfacial water molecules affect carrier transportation within graphene and related applications. Without proper tools, however, most of the previous works focus on simulation modeling rather than experimental validation. To overcome this obstacle, a series of graphene field-effect transistors (GFETs) with suspended (substrate-free, SF) and supported (oxide-supported, OS) configurations are developed to investigate the graphene-water interface under different hydrophilic conditions.
