Background: To determine if the intersectionality of gender and poverty is associated with health disparities among adolescents with cancer. We hypothesized unobserved latent classes of patients exist with respect to cancer-related symptoms; and class classification varies by gender-poverty combinations.
Procedure: Cross-sectional data were collected among adolescents with cancer and families (N = 126 dyads) at four tertiary pediatric hospitals.

Biomass bifunctional polyamide elastomers (BbPEs) were successfully prepared from dimer acid (DA), trimer acid (TA), and triethylenetetramine with shape memory and self-healing abilities. In the composition structure of BbPEs, vast hydrogen bonds formed among the amide bonds of different segments endowed the BbPEs with self-healing ability. At room temperature, the mechanical properties of BbPEs can be restored to 49% of the original condition after healing for 2 h.

In this paper, diffusion gradients in thin films (DGT) and DGT induced flux in sediments (DIFS) model are newly designed for in-situ measurement of iron (Fe), PO, nitrate (NO-N) and ammonium (NH-N), and nutrients' mobility in sediment in Lake Nanhu (China). According to DGT profiles together with physicochemical properties in sediment, (I) PO is released from (i) Fe-bound P plus loosely sorbed P in anoxic sediment and (ii) the loosely sorbed P in oxic sediment; (II) anoxic sediment inhibits nitrification and NO-N release, but it favors denitrification and dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium (DNRA), leading to NH-N release; (III) Eh and organic matter are two key influence factors on mobility of PO, NO-N and NH-N.

Personal social network types, which are associated with individual behaviors, have been identified for new mothers: exclusive (kin centric) and expansive (not kin centric). To analyze the impact of personal social network type on breastfeeding practices in U.

Physicians are concerned that initiating pediatric advance care planning conversations with families is too distressing for families. We examined the effect of family centered pediatric advance care planning intervention for teens with cancer (FACE-TC) advance care planning on families' appraisals of their caregiving, distress, and strain.

Meanwhile, the great debate about the underlying mechanism responsible for this unique luminescence thermal behavior may be equally compelling. To this point, special attention has been paid to the critical interplay between surface species and the energy transfer process (from the sensitizer to the activator) in a thermal field.

Recently, increasing evidence has suggested that USP18 is constitutively expressed in different types of human tumors, and ectopic expression or downregulation of USP18 expression may contribute to tumorigenesis. However, the role of USP18 in uterine cervical cancer (UCC) remains unclear.

Objective: The meta-analysis was conducted to test the link between pancreatic cancer (PC) risk and dietary inflammatory index (DII®) score.
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Setting: We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and the Cochrane Library up to 22 November 2020 to identify the relevant studies.
Although the occurrence and distribution of various chemicals on microplastics (MPs) has been widely studied, little was known about the concentrations of poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) on MPs. In this study, MPs from eight rivers draining into Pearl River Estuary (PRE) region were collected and analyzed. Higher concentrations of PFASs on MPs (105-9.

This study focused on the development of a sulfonated poly ether ether ketone (SPEEK) film incorporated with amidated graphene oxide (AGO), for the storage of cherry tomatoes in modified atmosphere packaging. The mechanical properties, gas permeability, and moisture permeability were subsequently tested.

Herein, we identified GTP cyclohydrolase 1 (GCH1), the first rate-limiting enzyme in tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) de novo biosynthesis, as a novel metabolic regulator of HCC.

This study determined distinct latent classes of religiousness/spirituality for adult persons living with HIV (PLWH) and associations between latent class membership and HRQoL.
Methods: Baseline data was collected from 223 patients in the FAmily CEntered (FACE) Advance Care Planning (ACP) clinical trial for PLWH.
Pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) is a key glycolysis enzyme, and its effect on macrophages has not been entirely elucidated. Here, we identified that the PKM2 small-molecule agonist TEPP-46 mediated PKM2 activation by inducing the formation of PKM2 tetramer and promoted macrophage endotoxin tolerance. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-tolerant mice had higher expression of the PKM2 tetramer, which was associated with a reduced immune response to LPS.

Objective: To identify unobserved distinctive patterns of congruence trajectories and examine how the typology of outcome development differed between ACP and controls.
Methods: Multisite, assessor-blinded, intent-to-treat, randomized clinical trial enrolled participants between October 2013 to March 2017 from 5 hospital-based HIV clinics.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), which accounts for 60% of non-small-cell lung cancers, is poorly diagnosed and has a low average 5-year survival rate (approximately 20%). It remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Studies on long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in LUAD-related competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks are limited.

Introduction: In infants hospitalized for bronchiolitis on non-invasive ventilation (NIV) via the RAM cannula nasal interface, variables predicting subsequent intubation, or NIV non-response, are understudied. We sought to identify predictors of NIV non-response.
Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study in infants admitted for respiratory failure from bronchiolitis placed on NIV in a quaternary children's hospital.

This study aims to investigate perinatal depression in women who gave birth during the COVID-19 pandemic in Wuhan, and to evaluate the effect of the pandemic on perinatal depression prevalence. A cross-sectional investigation was conducted into women hospitalized for delivery in Hubei Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital from December 31, 2019 to March 22, 2020, a period which encompasses the entire time frame of the COVID-19 pandemic in Wuhan. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) was adopted to evaluate perinatal depression status.

Lenslet arrays are often used as spatial light modulator (SLM) in such systems. However, the conflict between refocusing on a virtual object point from the light-field image (LF image) and focusing on the image plane of the lenslets leads to degradation of the viewing effect.

Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus (known as chuanbeimu in Chinese, FCB) is a famous folk medicine which has been widely used to relieve cough and eliminate phlegm for thousands of years in China. The medicine originates from dried bulbs of six species of which are distributed in the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere. Increasing attention has been paid to FCB because of its excellent medicinal value such as being antitussive, expectorant, analgesic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidative.

A recent study reported that the DNA-binding transcriptional factor SIX3 is essential during embryonic development in vertebrates and capable of downregulating target genes of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in lung cancer, indicating negative regulation of Wnt/β-catenin activation. However, regulation of the SIX3-Wnt/β-catenin pathway axis remains unknown.
