Deep neural networks (DNNs) have been very successful for supervised learning. However, their high generalization performance often comes with the high cost of annotating data manually. Collecting low-quality labeled dataset is relatively cheap, e.

The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EOTRC) classifies non-muscular invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) into low-risk, medium-risk and high-risk groups based on a comprehensive analysis of NMIBC pathological parameters and the risk of recurrence and progression to muscular invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). Traditional classification systems are based on pathologic grading, staging systems, and clinical prognosis.

Vision-driven fall event detection has the huge advantage of being non-invasive. However, in actual scenes, the fall behavior is rich in diversity, resulting in strong instability in detection.

However, the better parameter is yet to be systematically investigated and determined. Thus, we conduct this systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the prognostic value of severity index and plasma PQ concentration in patients with PQ poisoning.

Evodiamine (Evo) and rutaecarpine (Rut) are two major active components of Evodia rutaecarpa, a Chinese traditional medicine that has been used as an analgesic for a long time. However, their effects on peripheral hypersensitivity remain unknown.

Study Design: A prospective study was conducted among 1,704 pregnant women at three medical institutions in Chengdu, China. The concentrations of triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured at gestational weeks 12 ± 1, 24 ± 1, and 34 ± 1.
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with miniature monitors was used to study the vertical profiles of PM (particulate matter with a ≤2.5-μm diameter) and black carbon (BC) in Macau, China, from the surface to 500 m above ground level (AGL). Twelve- and 11-day measurements were conducted during February and March 2018, respectively.

Objective: The predictive accuracies of procalcitonin (PCT) in the diagnosis of catheter-associated bloodstream infection (CABSI) vary widely. This meta-analysis aimed to explore the predictive value of PCT for CABSI.
Methods: We searched PubMed, EMBase, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Cochrane Library, and studies published up to 10 March 2019.
This study focuses on the effect of miR-129-5p on docetaxel-resistant (DR) prostate cancer (PCa) cells invasion, migration and apoptosis. In our study, the expression of CAMK2N1 was assessed by qRT-PCR in PCa patient tissues and cell lines including PC-3 and PC-3-DR. Cells transfected with miR-129-5p mimics, inhibitor, CAMK2N1 or negative controls (NC) were used to interrogate their effects on DR cell invasions, migrations and apoptosis during docetaxel (DTX) treatments.

After 8 days, preadipocyte differentiation was observed by Oil Red O staining.

Background And Objective: Cerebral stroke has become a significant global public health issue in recent years. The ideal solution to this concern is to prevent in advance by controlling related metabolic factors. However, it is difficult for medical staff to decide whether special precautions are needed for a potential patient only based on the monitoring of physiological indicators unless they are obviously abnormal.

Methods and Results Urban teaching hospitals were queried for adult patients with a primary diagnosis of acute STEMI during 2007-2010. The primary outcome was in-hospital mortality, and the secondary outcome was length of stay.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFlaxseed oil (FO), enriched in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), is an important oil source for intestinal development and health. We aimed to study the different effects of FO versus soybean oil (SO) on growth, intestinal health and immune function of neonates with intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) using a weaned piglet model. Forty pairs of male IUGR and normal birth weight piglets, weaned at 21 ± 1 d, were fed diets containing either 4% FO or SO for 3 weeks consecutively.

Continuous theta burst stimulation (cTBS) has recently been shown to be a promising noninvasive therapeutic strategy for neuroprotection in ischemic stroke patients. Here, we investigated the protective effects of cTBS following acute infarction using a photothrombotic stroke (PTS) model in the right posterior parietal cortex (PPC) of C57BL/6 mice.

Background: Surgery is a frequent cause of persistent pain. Unrelieved chronic postsurgical pain causes unnecessary patient suffering and discomfort and usually leads to psychological complications. The rat model of skin/muscle incision and retraction (SMIR) with decreased paw withdrawal thresholds developed by Flatters was usually used to investigate the underlying mechanism of chronic postsurgical pain.

We further sought to determine whether PARP inhibition could suppress NEPC, and to identify molecular determinants of this therapeutic activity.
Experimental Design: We used a novel prostate cancer patient-derived xenograft (PDX) treatment model, prostatic adenocarcinoma and NEPC cell lines, an NEPC organoid line, and NEPC xenograft models to address the mechanistic basis of ENZ-induced NED, and to analyze suppression of NED and NEPC growth by PARP inhibition.
Codon usage bias is a universal feature of eukaryotic and prokaryotic genomes and plays an important role in regulating gene expression levels. A major role of codon usage is thought to regulate protein expression levels by affecting mRNA translation efficiency, but the underlying mechanism is unclear. By analyzing ribosome profiling results, here we showed that codon usage regulates translation elongation rate and that rare codons are decoded more slowly than common codons in all codon families in Neurospora.

Domain adaptation aims to deal with learning problems in which the labeled training data and unlabeled testing data are differently distributed. Maximum mean discrepancy (MMD), as a distribution distance measure, is minimized in various domain adaptation algorithms for eliminating domain divergence. We analyze empirical MMD from the point of view of graph embedding.
