A multilingual image search engine.

A multilingual search interface has been created for a large, richly-indexed multi-journal library of medical images. Images are indexed by keywords and medical concepts. Nine non-English languages are supported, including Chinese and Japanese.

A Tablet-PC application for the individual family service plan (IFSP).

Approximately 2% of children from birth through 2 years of age were identified as having disabilities in 2000. To provide effective intervention services to each child is important. Children with disabilities from birth to 3 years of age who receive early intervention services have an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

GoldMiner: a radiology image search engine.

Objective: We sought to create an Internet-based search engine to retrieve images from a large collection of figures published in peer-reviewed journals.

Conclusion: The GoldMiner search engine provides easy, rapid access to a large library of images and their associated text, and it is freely available for use on the Internet.

A hand-held application for Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).

An Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) is a widely used service plan for children with disabilities in the community health. This project developed a hand-held computer application to collect IFSP data from children families. The tool provides user friendly interfaces in a Tablet PC, using E-tables.

A Fisheye Viewer for microarray-based gene expression data.

Background: Microarray has been widely used to measure the relative amounts of every mRNA transcript from the genome in a single scan. Biologists have been accustomed to reading their experimental data directly from tables. However, microarray data are quite large and are stored in a series of files in a machine-readable format, so direct reading of the full data set is not feasible.

A presentation system for just-in-time learning in radiology.

There is growing interest in bringing medical educational materials to the point of care. We sought to develop a system for just-in-time learning in radiology. A database of 34 learning modules was derived from previously published journal articles.
