The conversion of biomass into chemical fuels is exciting but quite challenging in the development of an effective conversion strategy to generate easily-separated products without energy consumption. Herein, a lignocellulosic biomass-to-H conversion system via photo-thermal catalysis over MoC hierarchical nanotube catalysts in an acidic solution, in which the lignocellulose is hydrolyzed to small organic molecules (such as glucose, etc) by dilute HSO, and then the resulting glucose is oxidized by MoC catalyst to generate H are reported. During the photo-thermal catalytic processes, the carbon vacancy in MoC catalysts results in the generation of undercoordinated Mo sites, which act as active sites for both biomass oxidation and H generation reactions.

Objective: Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients often present with microscopic signs of gut inflammation. We used proteomic techniques to identify the differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) in the colon tissues of patients with AS and patients with gut inflammation, and then used investigated the influence of NMRAL1 protein on inflammatory cytokines to explore its potential role in the pathogenesis of AS and gut inflammation.

Most current databases for bodily emotion expression are created in Western countries, resulting in culturally skewed representations. To address the obvious risk this bias poses to academic comprehension, we attempted to expand the current repertoire of human bodily emotions by recruiting Asian professional performers to wear whole-body suits with 57 retroreflective markers attached to major joints and body segments, and express seven basic emotions with whole-body movements in a motion-capture lab. For each emotion, actors performed three self-created scenarios that covered a broad range of real-life events to elicit the target emotion within 2-5 seconds.

The lip-splitting approach enables excellent access to all areas of the mouth and pharynx to remove tumors; however, traditional lower lip-splitting incisions produce an unsatisfactory scar. Solar-driven photothermal catalytic H production from lignocellulosic biomass was achieved by using 1T-2H MoS with tunable Lewis acidic sites as catalysts in an alkaline aqueous solution, in which the number of Lewis acidic sites derived from the exposed Mo edges of MoS was successfully regulated by both the formation of an edge-terminated 1T-2H phase structure and tunable layer number. Owing to the abundant Lewis acidic sites for the oxygenolysis of lignocellulosic biomass, the 1T-2H MoS catalyst shows high photothermal catalytic lignocellulosic biomass-to-H transformation performance in polar wood chips, bamboo, rice straw corncobs, and rice hull aqueous solutions, and the highest H generation rate and solar-to-H (STH) efficiency respectively achieves 3661 μmol·h·g and 0.18% in the polar wood chip system under 300 W Xe lamp illumination.
