Ecologists have paid considerable attention to the adaptation and distribution of urban landscape species in China amid rapid urbanization and climate change, given the essential role of urban species in human activities, urban planning, and sustainable development. However, existing studies primarily concentrate on the effects of climate change on the distribution of native species, creating a research gap regarding alien species. We compiled 5261 distribution data points for 538 alien woody landscape species (WLS) (non-native to China) from 179 cities with populations over one million in China and utilized the MaxEnt model to assess the future distribution and migration patterns of 27 most commonly introduced evergreen broad-leaved, evergreen coniferous, and deciduous broad-leaved species under present, 2041-2060, and 2081-2100 periods according to the Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 4.

Background: Renal fibrosis is a hallmark of chronic kidney disease (CKD). In traditional Chinese medicine, Rubus chingii Hu (raspberry) is believed to have kidney-tonifying properties. However, whether raspberry can effectively treat CKD, along with the specific active compounds and underlying mechanisms, remains unclear.

Background: Glucocorticoid (GC) response heterogeneity has been recognized as an unfavorable prognostic factor, yet the underlying mechanism remains elusive. In this study, we endeavored to investigate the potential causes from an epigenetic perspective.

Methods: The protein expression levels of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR), acetylated GC receptor (Ac-GR), acetylated histone3 (Ac-H3), histone4 (Ac-H4), and the activity of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) were quantified in the peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients exhibiting diverse GC responses.

Fine-grained classification of whole slide images (WSIs) is essential in precision oncology, enabling precise cancer diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies. The core of this task involves distinguishing subtle morphological variations within the same broad category of gigapixel-resolution images, which presents a significant challenge. While the multi-instance learning (MIL) paradigm alleviates the computational burden of WSIs, existing MIL methods often overlook hierarchical label correlations, treating fine-grained classification as a flat multi-class classification task.

The cGAS-STING pathway is essential in innate immunity, especially in antiviral responses and cellular stress management. cGAS acts as a cytoplasmic DNA sensor by initiating the synthesis of the second messenger cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAMP), which subsequently activates the STING pathway, leading to the production of type I interferons and other cytokines, as well as the activation of inflammatory mediators. Recent studies have demonstrated that ubiquitination changes closely regulate the function of the cGAS-STING pathway.

Despite the transformative impact of programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) blockade therapy on metastatic/advanced solid tumor treatment, its efficacy is hindered by a limited response rate. Platelets play a pivotal role in tumor metastasis by shielding circulating tumor cells and secreting immunosuppressive factors. We here demonstrate that selectively inducing apoptosis in tumor-associated platelets (TAPs) using ABT-737-loaded nanoparticles (cyclic arginine-glycine-aspartate containing peptide-modified ABT-737-loaded nanoparticles [cRGD-NP@A]) enhances the anti-metastatic efficacy of the anti-PD-1 antibody (aPD-1).

Background: Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare and aggressive subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Although autopsy findings have revealed that IVLBCL often involves the lungs, its clinical features and imaging manifestations have rarely been reported. This study aimed to explore the pulmonary imaging manifestations of three patients with pulmonary IVLBCL.

Ancient introgression is an infrequent evolutionary process often associated with conflicts between nuclear and organellar phylogenies. Determining whether such conflicts arise from introgression, incomplete lineage sorting (ILS), or other processes is essential to understanding plant diversification. Previous studies have reported phylogenetic discordance in the placement of , but its causes remain unclear.

Background: Upper eyelid retraction (UER), the primary symptom of thyroid-associated orbitopathy (TAO), can affect perceived eyeball position. This study aimed to assess relative anatomical positions, and examine changes in eyeball position and related factors in TAO patients with unilateral UER.

Methods: In total, 30 TAO patients with unilateral UER and 67 healthy control participants were included in this retrospective study.

Background: Preventing cardiovascular disease (CVD) in adults with hypertension is essential, but it remains uncertain whether optimizing modifiable factors can eliminate the excess CVD risk associated with new-onset hypertension.

Methods: In this prospective cohort study, 29,597 adults with new-onset hypertension and no prior CVD (from 2006-2016 surveys) were each matched by age and sex to a normotensive control. Eight modifiable factors were assessed using the American Heart Association's Life's Essential 8 algorithm.

Spatial control over supramolecular self-assembly prevails in living system, yet remains difficult to replicate in synthetic scenarios. Here, on the basis of a hydrazone formation-mediated supramolecular hydrogelation system, access to patterning of supramolecular hydrogels is demonstrated via a light-triggered catalysis strategy. A photoacid generator that can produce protons in aqueous solutions upon irradiation is employed.

High-order harmonics have been widely used as reliable tabletop coherent radiation sources recently, but their applications have often been limited by the available pulse energy. Here, we report that by using an overdriven intense laser in a long waveguide with high-pressure gas, phase matching can be achieved in three distinct "regimes". In the third regime, favorable phase matching is achieved at near-axis positions to enhance harmonic yields.
