4D radar has higher point cloud density and precise vertical resolution than conventional 3D radar, making it promising for adverse scenarios in the environmental perception of autonomous driving. However, 4D radar is more noisy than LiDAR and requires different filtering strategies that affect the point cloud density and noise level. Comparative analyses of different point cloud densities and noise levels are still lacking, mainly because the available datasets use only one type of 4D radar, making it difficult to compare different 4D radars in the same scenario.

Aims: Alzheimer's disease (AD) involves a prolonged presymptomatic or preclinical stage with subtle pathological changes. Apolipoprotein E4 (APOE4) is a significant genetic risk factor for AD, yet its specific role at the presymptomatic stage is not fully understood. This study aimed to elucidate the cellular and molecular effects of APOE4 compared to APOE3 on AD progression during the presymptomatic stage.

The acute phase of ischemic stroke is marked by a surge in matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) activity. While integral to natural repair processes, MMP-9 exacerbates injury by breaking down the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and promoting edema and inflammation. MMP-9 is predominantly secreted by inflammatory cells such as neutrophils, macrophages and microglia soon after stroke onset.

Objectives: Atherosclerosis is characterized by persistent inflammatory condition, leading to various cardiovascular complications. Foam cell formation, resulting from macrophage uptake of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL), contributes significantly to atherosclerosis progression. This study was designed to investigate the involvement of bispecific phosphatase-6 (DUSP6) and its potential regulatory mechanisms in foam cell formation and atherosclerosis.

The controllable synthesis of plasmonic metal nanocrystals with well-defined shapes is of great significance for their potential applications, and it requires a good understanding of the mechanism under thermodynamically and kinetically controlled reactions. Herein we present a seed-mediated growth approach to a series of five-fold twinned (FT) gold nanocrystals. Specifically, concave FT Au nanocrystals with embedded grooves at the twin boundaries are preferentially prepared under kinetically dominated conditions.

The disease caused by has been demonstrated to exert a deleterious effect on the performance of poultry, giving rise to elevated mortality and considerable economic losses within the breeding industry. However, there is a paucity of research investigating the relationship between cecal gene expression and different isomer and infection, and research on the relationship between intestinal microbiota and infection is also limited. In this study, mRNA-Seq and metagenomic sequencing were performed on the cecal tissues and fresh feces of individuals who tested positive ( = 4) and negative ( = 4) for , with the aim of exploring the chickens infected with from two perspectives: the gene transcription level and the microbial level.

Background: Sensory impairments (SI), including vision (VI), hearing (HI), and dual sensory impairments (DSI), are prevalent with aging, but their impact on disease risk remains unclear. This study investigates the epidemiological and genetic associations between SIs and 10 chronic disease categories and multimorbidity.

Methods: Using the CHARLS study, participants were classified by their self-reported VI/HI/DSI status in 2011 and 2013 into groups: "new onset, remission, persistent, and no SI.

Obesity is recognized as a metabolic disorder, and its treatment and management pose ongoing challenges worldwide. Hawthorn, a traditional Chinese herb used to alleviate digestive issues and reduce blood lipid levels, has unclear mechanisms of action regarding its active components in the treatment of obesity. This study investigated the anti-obesity effects of vitexin, a major flavonoid compound found in hawthorn, in high-fat diet (HFD)-induced C57BL/6 mice.

Background: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are gradually becoming the leading cause of morbidity and mortality among chronic non-communicable diseases. Previous studies have found that the TyG index is an effective alternative indicator for insulin resistance (IR) and is associated with cardiovascular events. Additionally, obesity directly or indirectly increases the risk of developing CVDs.

Background: The number of patients experiencing re-infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is progressively increasing. In this study, we aimed to explore the differences in clinical characteristics between patients with primary infection and those with re-infection of SARS-CoV-2.

Methods: A retrospective data analysis was conducted involving patients diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 between April 1, 2023, and June 20, 2023.

Introduction: Sarcopenia is a condition that occurs more frequently in older adults. Although many types of exercise have been used in the treatment of sarcopenia, few studies have been conducted on different interventional environments for sarcopenia. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of aquatic exercise and land-based exercise on the body composition and function of participants with sarcopenia.

Adeno-associated virus (AAV) expresses a membrane-associated accessory protein (MAAP), a small nonstructural protein, that facilitates AAV secretion out of the plasma membrane through an association with extracellular vesicles during AAV egress. Here, we investigated the host proteins that interact with AAV2 MAAP (MAAP2) using APEX2-mediated proximity labeling. We identified two SNARE proteins, Syntaxin 7 (STX7) and synaptosome-associated protein 23 (SNAP23), a vesicle (v-)SNARE and a target (t-)SNARE, respectively, that mediate intracellular trafficking of membrane vesicles aand exhibited associations with MAAP2 in HEK293 cells.

The special structure of eyes and the existence of various physiological barriers make ocular drug delivery one of the most difficult problems in the pharmaceutical field. Considering the problems of patient compliance, local administration remains the preferred method of drug administration in the anterior part of eyes. However, local administration suffers from poor bioavailability, need for frequent administration, and systemic toxicity.

Background: At present, the participation rate in cancer screening is still not ideal, and the lack of screening information or misunderstanding of information is an important factor hindering cancer screening behaviour. Therefore, a systematic synthesis of information needs related to cancer screening is critical.

Methods: On July 23, 2024, we searched the Cochrane Library, MEDLINE (Ovid), Embase, EBSCO, PsycINFO, Scopus, ProQuest, PubMed, Web of Science, and CINAHL to collect qualitative or mixed-methods studies on information needs of cancer screening.

One of the hallmarks of cancer is high levels of DNA replication stress and defects in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathways, which are critical for maintaining genomic integrity. Ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3-related protein (ATR) is a key regulator of the DDR machinery and an attractive therapeutic target, with multiple ATR inhibitors holding significant promise in ongoing clinical studies. Herein, we describe the discovery and characterization of ART0380 (), a potent and selective ATR inhibitor with a compelling in vitro and in vivo pharmacological profile currently undergoing Phase 2 clinical studies in patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors as monotherapy and in combination with DNA-damaging agents (NCT04657068 and NCT05798611).

We conducted a genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 screen in suspension 293 F cells transduced with rAAV5. The highly selected genes revealed after two rounds of screening included the previously reported , , and , along with a cluster of genes involved in glycan biogenesis, Golgi apparatus localization, and endoplasmic reticulum penetration. In this report, we focused on solute carrier family 35 member A1 (), a Golgi apparatus-localized cytidine 5'-monophosphate-sialic acid (CMP-SIA) transporter.

Piezoelectric materials can generate charges and reactive oxygen species (ROS) under external force stimulation for ultrasound-induced sonodynamic therapy (SDT). However, their poor piezoelectricity, fast electron-hole pair recombination rate, and biological toxicity of piezoelectric materials limit the therapeutic effects of piezoelectric SDT. In this study, hollow ZnO (HZnO) nanospheres were synthesized by using a one-step method.
