α-Hydroxy ketones are a crucial class of organic compounds prevalent in natural products and pharmaceutical molecules. The CO-promoted hydration of propargylic alcohols is an efficient method for the synthesis of α-hydroxy ketones. Herein, an ionic liquid (IL) was designed to catalyze this reaction individually under atmospheric CO pressure, volatile organic solvents, and additives.

Studying the mechanisms and effects of rejuvenators on SBS-modified bitumen is crucial for repairing degraded SBS and recycling aged SBS-modified bitumen (ASMB), thereby contributing to the sustainable development of bitumen pavements. This research examines the roles of mono-epoxy Alkyl (C12-C14) glycidyl ether (AGE) and di-epoxy 1,6-Hexanediol diglycidyl ether (HDE) under the catalysis of N,N-dimethyl benzyl amine (BDMA) in repairing degraded SBS chains. Aromatic oil (ORSMB)-, AGE-aromatic oil (ARSMB)-, and HDE-aromatic oil (HRSMB)-rejuvenated bitumen are analyzed for their chemical structures, physical properties, and rheological properties.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) hold considerable promise for environmental remediation owing to their exceptional performance and distinctive structure. Nonetheless, the practical implementation of MOFs encounters persistent technical hurdles, notably susceptibility to loss, challenging recovery, and potential environmental toxicity arising from the fragility, insolubility, and poor processability of MOFs. MOF-based three-dimensional macrostructures (3DMs) inherit the advantageous attributes of the original MOFs, such as ultra-high specific surface area, tunable pore size, and customizable structure, while also incorporating the intriguing characteristics of bulk materials, including hierarchical structure, facile manipulation, and structural flexibility.

Liver tissue engineering offers potential in liver transplantation, while the development of hydrogels for scalable scaffolds incorporating natural components and effective functionalities is ongoing. Here, we propose a novel microfluidic 3D printing hydrogel derived from decellularized fish liver extracellular matrix for liver regeneration. By decellularizing fish liver and combining it with gelatin methacryloyl, the hydrogel scaffold retains essential endogenous growth factors such as collagen and glycosaminoglycans.

Endometrial cancer (EC) is a common gynecological malignancy for which polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) has been identified as a significant risk factor. Quercetin, a widely distributed natural flavonoid, has demonstrated potential therapeutic effects in managing both PCOS and EC. However, the specific molecular targets of quercetin in the context of PCOS comorbid with EC (PCOS-EC) remain poorly defined.

As a natural oil, horse oil has unique biological activity ingredients and therapeutic characteristics, which has important application value and market potential in healthcare, food, skin care and other fields. However, fraud is rampant in the horse oil market, and traditional methods such as chemical analysis and physical property detection are time-consuming, costly, and have low accuracy in detecting adulteration. Excessive adulteration may cause health risks, skin problems, and economic losses.

Background: Tea-oil Camellia within the genus Camellia is renowned for its premium Camellia oil, often described as "Oriental olive oil". So far, only one partial mitochondrial genomes of Tea-oil Camellia have been published (no main Tea-oil Camellia cultivars), and comparative mitochondrial genomic studies of Camellia remain limited.

Results: In this study, we first reconstructed the entire mitochondrial genome of C.

Despite identifying specific CD8 T cell subsets associated with immunotherapy resistance, the molecular pathways driving this process remain elusive. Given the potential role of CD38 in regulating CD8 T cell function, we aimed to investigate the accumulation of CD38CD8 T cells in lung cancer and explore its role in immunotherapy resistance. Phenotypic analysis of tumoral CD8 T cells from both lung cancer patients and immunotherapy-resistant preclinical models revealed that CD38-expressing CD8 T cells consist of CD38 and CD38 subsets.

Objective To clarify the mechanism that HIV infection mediates mitochondrial damage of CD4 T lymphocytes (CD4 T cells) through mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway. Methods From October 1st, 2022 to March 31st, 2023, 47 HIV-infected people who received antiretroviral therapy (ART) for 4 years were recruited, including 22 immune non-responders (INR) and 25 responders (IR); and 26 sex and age-matched control participants (HC) who were negative for HCV, HBV, and HIV infections. The immune parameters were analyzed by flow cytometry.

Traditional photopolymerizations generally requires an initiator for initiating the polymerization while few cases have created degradable chemical bonds. Moreover, the migration instability and cytotoxicity of photo initiators are posing issues to human health and the environment. In this work, we discovered an initiator-free photo polycondensation system (IFPPC) between polymercaptans and aldehyde monomers, producing high strength plastic materials with exchangeable and degradable dithioacetal groups.

Objective: To analyze the diagnostic value of IgG anti-A/anti-B antibody titer in the serum of type O pregnant women after absorption of IgG anti-AB antibody for ABO hemolytic disease of fetus and newborn (ABO-HDFN).

Methods: From February 2020 to September 2020, 235 samples of neonatal hemolytic disease whose mother's blood type O from Beijing Blood Center were selected. The titer of IgG anti-A/anti-B antibody in mother's serum before and after absorption of IgG anti -AB antibody was detected by microcolumn gel card, and the incidence of ABO-HDFN was statistically analyzed.

Polyploidization promotes the functional diversification of autophagy in plants, expanding autophagy-associated genes (AAGs) to support processes like chloroplast division and flowering. Analysis of 92,967 AAGs in , , and 74 other plant species shows that 45.69% of AAGs are polyploidy-related, highlighting polyploidy's role in linking autophagy to plant-specific functions.

Ocean acidification can significantly affect the physiological performance of macroalgae. While copper (Cu) is an essential element for macroalgae and has been extensively studied, the interactive effects of ocean acidification and Cu on these organisms remain less understood. In this study, we measured the photosynthetic characteristics of Ulva lactuca exposed to varying Cu concentrations at two CO levels (415 ppmv, low concentration; 1000 ppmv, high concentration).

Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) has garnered increasing attention as a safe and effective peripheral neuromodulation technique in various clinical and cognitive neuroscience fields. However, there is ongoing debate about whether the commonly used earlobe control interferes with the objective assessment of taVNS regulatory effects. This study aims to further explore the regulatory effects of taVNS and earlobe stimulation (ES) on alertness levels and physiological indicators following 24 h of sleep deprivation (SD), based on previous findings that both taVNS and ES showed significant positive effects.

2-O-α-Glucosylglycerol (GG) is a natural heteroside synthesized by many cyanobacteria and a few heterotrophic bacteria under salt stress conditions. Bacteria produce GG in response to stimuli and degrade it once the stimulus diminishes. Heterotrophic bacteria utilize GG phosphorylase (GGP), a member of the GH13_18 family, via a two-step process consisting of phosphorolysis and hydrolysis for GG catabolism.

Single-cell lineage tracing based on CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing enables the simultaneous linkage of cell states and lineage history at a high resolution. Despite its immense potential in resolving the cell fate determination and genealogy within an organism, existing implementations of this technology suffer from limitations in recording capabilities and considerable barcode dropout. Here, we introduce DuTracer, a versatile tool that utilizes two orthogonal gene editing systems to record cell lineage history at single-cell resolution in an inducible manner.
