Breast cancer remains a significant global health challenge, and its mechanisms of progression and metastasis are still not fully understood. In this study, analysis of TCGA and GEO datasets revealed a significant increase in CCT2 expression in breast cancer tissues, which was associated with poor prognosis in breast cancer patients. Functional analysis revealed that CCT2 promoted breast cancer growth and metastasis through activation of the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway.

Article Synopsis
  • Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is highly aggressive and has a complex relationship with tumor-associated macrophages that contribute to drug resistance and disease progression.
  • * The study found that increased levels of collagen type V alpha 1 (COL5A1) in TNBC tissues, especially in those resistant to chemotherapy, are linked to worse patient outcomes and facilitate cancer growth and metastasis.
  • * COL5A1 promotes doxorubicin resistance through a feedback loop involving IL-6 and M2 macrophages, suggesting it could be a valuable biomarker for diagnosing and treating TNBC.

In the past decade, hydrophobic fluorescent carbon dots (OCDs) have received little attention, and its potential application and light transition mechanism is seldom explored. Here we report a novel one-step approach for synthesizing blue- and green-emitting hydrophobic fluorescent carbon dots (OCD and OCD) by calcinating with the uses of citric acid and hexadecylamine as initial reactants. The optimal conditions for preparing OCD and OCD were obtained by using the Taguchi L25 (3) orthogonal array.
