Geriatric perioperative care units (UPOGs) provide enhanced care for patients with hip fracture, including drug prescription. However, it is not known whether adding a CP intervention in a UPOG decreases the number of PIPs.

An audit was carried out to assess the training needs of pharmacy technicians (PTs).
Materials And Methods: All drug dispensations done over a 9-week period by the units PTs were audited.
Introduction/objectives: The primary objective was to evaluate the impact of an in-department pharmacist on the prevention of drug iatrogenesis in a rheumatology department. Secondary objectives were to determine (i) if medication history discrepancies were detected more frequently in the elderly or not, and (ii) if the mean number of treatments at admission had an impact on the number of medication history discrepancies.
Methods: Implementation of a clinical-pharmacy program based on medication reconciliation and medication review of prescription for all patients admitted to a rheumatology department between January and June 2017.
Introduction: Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is increasingly popular among cancer patients but can interfere with conventional therapies; timely data are needed to adapt current patients' care.
Materials And Methods: This transversal, prospective study evaluated the use of CAM among patients receiving adjuvant chemotherapy or endocrine therapy for early stage breast cancer. We assessed the prevalence of use, the motivations and predictive factors for use, as well as patients' information needs over a three months period.
Overexpression of T-cadherin (T-cad) transcripts occurs in approximately 50% of human hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs). To elucidate T-cad functions in HCC, we examined T-cad protein expression in normal and tumoral human livers and hepatoma cell lines and investigated its influence on invasive potential of HCC using RNA interference silencing of T-cad expression in Mahlavu cells. Whereas T-cad expression was restricted to endothelial cells (EC) from large blood vessels in normal livers, it was up-regulated in sinusoidal EC from 8/15 invasive HCCs.
