Our previous research found that NSvc4, the movement protein of rice stripe virus (RSV), could localize to the actin filaments, endoplasmic reticulum, plasmodesmata, and chloroplast, but the roles of NSvc4 played in the chloroplast were opaque. Here, we confirm the accumulation of NSvc4 in the chloroplasts and the N-terminal 1-73 amino acids of NSvc4 are sufficient to localize to chloroplasts. We provide evidence to show that chloroplast-localized NSvc4 can impair the chloroplast-mediated immunity.

Plasmonic radial breathing mode (RBM), featured with radially oscillating charge density, arises from the surface plasmon waves confined in the flat nanoparticles. We extend the multireference driven similarity renormalization (MR-DSRG) method to compute core-excited states by combining it with a GASSCF treatment of orbital relaxation and static electron correlation effects. We consider MR-DSRG treatments of dynamical correlation truncated at the level of perturbation theory (DSRG-MRPT2/3) and iterative linearized approximations with one- and two-body operators [MR-LDSRG(2)] in combination with a spin-free exact-two-component (X2C) one-electron treatment of scalar relativistic effects. This approach is calibrated and tested on a series of 16 core-excited states of five closed- and open-shell diatomic molecules containing first-row elements (C, N, and O).

We derive analytic energy gradients of the driven similarity renormalization group (DSRG) multireference second-order perturbation theory (MRPT2) using the method of Lagrange multipliers. In the Lagrangian, we impose constraints for a complete-active-space self-consistent-field reference wave function and the semicanonical orthonormal molecular orbitals. Solving for the associated Lagrange multipliers is found to share the same asymptotic scaling of a single DSRG-MRPT2 energy computation.

Picornaviruses cause diseases in a wide range of vertebrates, invertebrates and plants. Here, a novel picornavirus was identified by RNA-seq technology from rice plants showing dwarfing and curling symptoms, and the name rice curl dwarf-associated virus (RCDaV) is tentatively proposed. To overcome the limitations of both LDHs and MXenes, we develop a self-sacrifice template strategy using a zeolite imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) to derive Co-LDH anchored on an MXene conductive substrate (Co-LDH/MXene). In this process, ZIF-67 grows on the MXene nanosheets, then spontaneously transforms into Co-LDH/MXene in aqueous solution at room temperature.
