Harnessing solar energy to produce hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is an important strategy to address the current energy shortage. Among various materials, porous organic polymers (POPs) stand out as promising candidates for photocatalytic H2O2 generation due to their versatile structures and extended π-conjugation; however, their efficiency in H2O2 synthesis is often constrained by poor charge separation and high reaction energy barriers. To address these challenges, we drew inspiration from the redox reactions of coenzyme NADPH in natural photosynthesis, the redox-active methyl viologen (MV2+) moiety was rationally incorporated into two polymer frameworks (TPE-MV and TPB-MV) as pivotal active sites for photocatalytic oxygen (O2) reduction to H2O2 via the reversible redox cycle of MV2+ and zerovalent methyl viologen (MV0).

Here we report a highly diastereoselective cyano group transfer radical cyclization reaction to construct 5/6-fused bicyclic ring systems that bear three contiguous and congested stereogenic elements, with 100% atom economy under catalyst-free and near-ultraviolet light irradiation conditions. Mechanistic investigations and density functional theory calculations suggest that the diastereoselectivity is governed by the conformational distribution of the triplet diradical intermediate and the rate of reverse intersystem crossing (RISC) before radical coupling.

Synovial herniation pit, also known as Pitt's pit, is a benign osseous lesion incidentally seen on imaging studies. Most of them will not show FDG uptake, but some herniation pits could show intense FDG uptake on PET/CT scans mimicking osseous metastasis. Here we report a case of synovial herniation pit in a patient with T-cell lymphoma through 8-year trajectory of FDG PET/CT scans, revealing its changing FDG uptake in relation to chemotherapy and final outcome.

Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) technology has revolutionized creating targeted genetic variation in crops. Although CRISPR enzymes have been reported to have high sequence-specificity, careful design of the editing reagents can also reduce unintended edits at highly homologous sites.
