Background: Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a connective tissue disease that primarily affects spinal joints, peripheral joints, and paravertebral soft tissues, leading to joint stiffness and spinal deformity. Growing evidence has implicated gut microbiota in the regulation of AS, though the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, Wanfang Data, China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP), and China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI) databases from the time the databases were created until 30 July 2023.

The type II toxin-antitoxin (T-A) HicAB system is abundant in several bacteria and archaea, such as Escherichia coli, Burkholderia Pseudomallei, Yersinia pestis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Streptococcus pneumoniae. This system engages in stress response, virulence, and bacterial persistence. This study showed that the biofilm-forming ability of the hicAB deletion mutant was significantly decreased to moderate ability compared to the extra-intestinal pathogenic Escherichia coli (ExPEC) parent strain and the complemented strain, which are strong biofilm producers.

An emerging pseudorabies virus (PRV) variant has been reported on Bartha-K61-vaccinated farms since 2011, causing great economic losses to China's swine-feeding industry. In this study, two vaccines, FJ-2012ΔgE/gI-GEL02 and FJ-2012ΔgE/gI-206VG, were administered to piglets for immune efficacy investigation. Humoral immunity response, clinical signs, survival rate, tissue viral load, and pathology were assessed in piglets.

Background: Since 2018, atrophy of the bursa has been found among vaccinated chickens with high antibody titres against infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) in Fujian, China, suggesting poor vaccine efficacy against circulating IBDV strains.

Methods: Novel IBDV strains were isolated, and vp2 and vp1 genes were sequenced and used to carry out phylogenetic analysis. Pathogenicity was investigated using 21-day-old specific pathogen-free (SPF) chickens.

Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) has a significant impact on the poultry industry, and genogroup VI (GVI) IBVs, such as the TC07-2 strain, were reported in China since 2007. We isolated a novel strain, CK/CH/FJ/202005 (henceforth 202005), from broilers that were vaccinated with different attenuated IBV strains (H120, 4/91, or QX) in Fujian, China during 2020. Based on comparison with the SNU8065 strain (GI-22), the 1ab genes were the locations of recombination in this new isolate.

The outbreaks of pseudorabies have been frequently reported in Bartha-K61-vaccinated farms in China since 2011. To study the pathogenicity and evolution of the circulating pseudorabies viruses in Fujian Province, mainland China, we isolated and sequenced the whole genome of a wild-type pseudorabies virus strain named "FJ-2012." We then conducted a few downstream bioinformatics analyses including phylogenetic analysis and pathogenic analysis and used the virus to infect 6 pseudorabies virus-free piglets.
