A novel thermophilic bacterium, designated CFH 72773 was isolated from the enrichment of a Jinze hot spring sample which was collected from Dientan town, Tengchong county, Yunnan province, south-western PR China. Cells were Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped and non-sporulating. The taxonomic position of the strain was investigated by using a polyphasic approach.

Article Synopsis
  • - A new Gram-negative bacterium called CFH 10530 was isolated from the intestines of grass carp collected at Henan Normal University, China, displaying unique characteristics like being aerobic, non-spore-forming, and non-motile.
  • - Genetic analysis shows that CFH 10530 is closely related to other strains but has significant differences, indicating it's a novel species, with a genome size of roughly 3.3 million base pairs and a high G+C content of 69.6%.
  • - Based on its distinct physiological traits and genetic data, CFH 10530 is proposed as a new species, with its type strain identified for further research and classification.
