Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) HCG11 can regulate various cancers through the ceRNA network. However, its role in osteosarcoma (OS) remains unknown. The HOS and Saos-2 cell lines were used for in vitro analyses.

Objective: To evaluate the early clinical efficacy and safety of vesselplasty for the treatment of spinal metastases complicated by posterior wall destruction of vertebral body.

Methods: The clinical data of 19 patients(21 segments) with spinal metastases complicated by posterior wall destruction of vertebral body treated from January 2016 to January 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 15 males and 4 females, aged 40 to 85 years old with a mean of (66.

Background: A non-dipper blood pressure (BP) pattern is very common in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and affects the progression and development of cardiovascular disease. However, data on the reversed dipper BP pattern on target-organ damage in Chinese CKD patients are lacking.

Methods: A total of 540 CKD patients were enrolled.

Nondipping blood pressure (BP) pattern is a potential independent risk factor for chronic kidney disease (CKD). Bedtime administration of valsartan is considered to normalize circadian rhythm and protect the kidneys and heart in CKD patients. However, more clinical trials are needed to confirm this benefit.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is recognized worldwide as a public health problem, and its prevalence increases as the population ages. However, the applicability of formulas for estimating the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) based on serum creatinine (SC) levels in elderly Chinese patients with CKD is limited.

Materials And Methods: Based on values obtained with the technetium-99m diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid ((99m)Tc-DTPA) renal dynamic imaging method, 319 elderly Chinese patients with CKD were enrolled in this study.

Background And Aims: We undertook this study to investigate the effect of mesangial cells stimulated by immunoglobin A1 from IgAN on transforming growth factor-beta1 synthesis in podocytes.

Methods: Jacalin affinity chromatography and Sephacryl S-200 molecular sieve chromatography were used to isolate IgA1 from blood of IgAN patients, which was then used as aggregated IgA1 (aIgA1). Podocytes were incubated with special mesangial medium.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the applicability of formulas based on serum creatinine (SC) levels in elderly Chinese patients with CKD. A total of 103 elderly CKD patients were investigated. The GFR was estimated with Cockcroft-Gault-equation, MDRD1-equation, abbreviated MDRD-equation, Jelliffe-1973-equation, Mawer-equation, Hull-equation, Jelliffe-1971-equation, SC-reciprocal-equation, Gate-equation and Bjornsson-equation.

Despite growing evidence for a pathogenic role of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in microvascular complications of diabetes, the underlying mechanism responsible for its detrimental effect remains unknown. In the current study, we hypothesized that some of the detrimental effects of VEGF on microvascular endothelial cells in the diabetic milieu stem from its aberrant signaling, which leads to perturbed tight junction assembly and increased endothelial permeability. Using an integrated in vitro approach, we investigated whether the effect of VEGF on endothelial cell permeability involves Rac1 GTPase activation and tight junction disassembly.

Aim: Abnormal immunoglobulin (Ig)A1 is considered to play a pivotal role in IgA nephropathy. We used mouse podocytes as the experimental model to investigate the effect of aggregated IgA1 (aIgA1) isolated from IgA nephropathy (IgAN) patients on nephrin expression in podocytes through direct and indirect pathways.

Methods: Jacalin affinity chromatography and Sephacryl S-200 molecular sieve chromatography were used to isolate IgA1 from blood of IgAN patients which was therefore became aIgA1.

Purpose: To investigate apoptosis of podocytes induced by IgA1 isolated from IgA nephropathy (IgAN) patients through direct and indirect pathways.

Methods: Jacalin affinity chromatography and Sephacryl S-200 molecular sieve chromatography were used to isolate IgA1 from blood of IgAN patients made as aggregated IgA1 (aIgA1). Podocytes were incubated with aIgA1 or special treated medium from mesangial cells after co-incubation with aIgA1 from IgAN patients.

Aim: To investigate the effect of leflunomide for treatment of immunoglobulin A (IgA) nephropathy.

Methods: Sixty IgA nephropathy patients were divided into two groups at random. Patients in the test group received leflunomide and patients in the control group received fosinopril.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of different blood purification techniques on serum parathyroid hormone (PTH) level in chronic hemodialysis (HD) patients with renal failure.

Methods: Ninety patients were randomly divided into three groups: absorption (AP) group, hemodiafiltration (HDF) group, and HD group. Patients in AP group received therapy with resin absorptive devices associated with HD, patients in HDF group received HDF, while patients in HD group received HD.
