This study presents the synthesis of a nano-cubic metal hydroxide with a perovskite structure, CoSn(OH), for the efficient activation of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) towards the degradation of acetamiprid (ACE) in water treatment. The CoSn(OH)/PMS system achieved complete degradation of ACE within only 12 min and exhibited outstanding catalytic stability. Our findings indicate that the non-radical mechanism, featuring singlet oxygen (O) and Co(IV)=O, is the primary contributor to the degradation process, while the role of radical species such as sulfate radical (SO) and hydroxyl radicals (·OH) is subordinate.

Here, we report that CRISPR/Cas9-guided gene-editing mutants of wheat G alpha subunit exhibit compact plant architecture and enhanced resistance against powdery mildew but with a compromise in yield traits. RNA-seq analyses show that some growth-related genes were down-regulated while some disease resistance-related genes were up-regulated in the Tagα-aabbdd mutant.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFlow injection mass spectrometry (FI-MS) is widely employed for high-throughput metabolome analysis, yet the absence of prior separation leads to significant matrix effects, thereby limiting the metabolome coverage. In this study, we introduce a novel photosensitive MS probe, iTASO-ONH, integrated with FI-MS to establish a high-throughput strategy for submetabolome analyses. The iTASO probe features a conjugated-imino sulfonate moiety for efficient photolysis under 365 nm irradiation and a reactive group for selective metabolite labeling.

However, their identification, particularly of low-abundance FAHFA regioisomers, remains challenging due to their high structural similarity, low natural abundance, and the limited availability of reliable FAHFA standards. In this study, we present a QSAR-based FAHFA annotation strategy that integrates a QSAR model with an ester bond position (EP) rule to determine the EPs of FAHFA regioisomers.

Despite the importance of understanding the impact of DOR on IVF outcomes, limited research has explored this relationship, particularly using omics approaches. Hence, we conducted a study to investigate the association between DOR and IVF outcomes, employing a metabolomic approach.

However, slight variations in the chromatographic separation conditions can result in retention time (RT) shifts between consecutive analyses, adversely affecting peak alignment accuracy. In this study, we present a retention index (RI)-based chromatographic peak-shift correction (CPSC) strategy to address RT shifts and align chromatographic peaks for metabolomics studies.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPeak alignment is a crucial step in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based large-scale untargeted metabolomics workflows, as it enables the integration of metabolite peaks across multiple samples, which is essential for accurate data interpretation. Slight differences or fluctuations in chromatographic separation conditions, however, can cause the chromatographic retention time (RT) shift between consecutive analyses, ultimately affecting the accuracy of peak alignment between samples. Here, we introduce a novel RT shift correction method based on the retention index (RI) and apply it to peak alignment.

They provide nutrient sources for host cells and regulate gut microenvironment, which are associated with a variety of diseases. Analysis of gut microbiota-host co-metabolites is of great significance to explore the host-gut microbiota interaction.

The progenitors of the A and D subgenomes have been identified as Triticum urartu and Aegilops tauschii, respectively. Current research suggests that Aegilops speltoides is the closest but not the direct ancestor of the B subgenome.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFOryza Sativa is one of the most important food crops in China, which is easily affected by drought during its growth and development. As a member of the calcium signaling pathway, CBL-interacting protein kinase (CIPK) plays an important role in plant growth and development as well as environmental stress. However, there is no report on the function and mechanism of OsCIPK17 in rice drought resistance.

The retinal degeneration protein RD3 is involved in regulatory processes of photoreceptor cells. Among its main functions is the inhibition of photoreceptor specific membrane guanylate cyclases during trafficking from the inner segment to their final destination in the outer segment. However, any physiological role of RD3 in non-retinal tissue is unsolved at present and specific protein targets outside of retinal tissue have not been identified so far.

Although widely used as hybrid capacitive deionization (HCDI) electrode material, the low intrinsic conductivity of metal hexacyanometalate (MHCF) severely hinders the fast insertion/extraction of Na in/from its 3D framework structure, damaging its desalination performance. Herein, we design a carbon nanotube (CNT) bridged nickel hexacyanoferrate architecture (NiHCF). The highly conductive CNT not only acts as the skeleton for the uniform growth of NiHCF to provide more ion-accessible surface and active sites but also serves as the conductive bridge to connect the NiHCF particles, which prevents the agglomeration of NiHCF particles and facilitates the charge transfer and ion diffusion during the desalination process.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFActivin receptor-like kinase 2 (ALK2) is a transmembrane kinase receptor that mediates the signaling of the members of the TGF-β superfamily. The aberrant activation of ALK2 has been linked to the rare genetic disorder fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) and diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) that are associated with severely reduced life expectancy in pediatric patients. ALK2 has also been shown to play an essential role in iron metabolism by regulating hepcidin levels and affecting anemia of chronic disease.

The results demonstrated cytoplasmic localization of , while GUS allogeneic () tissue-staining and quantitative analysis showed the gene was expressed in many organs, including flower buds; furthermore, it was involved in root, stem, and leaf growth. Compared to Nipponbare plants, grain filling rate and final grain weight decreased in plants of the knockout mutant owing to a delay in attainment of maximum grain filling rate.

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is now recommended as the first-line therapy for OSAHS, but its application is limited by its unsatisfactory patient tolerance. Previous studies have showed that high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) may improve symptoms in some patients with OSAHS.
