Purpose: To investigate the 10-year changes in visual function and incidence of visual impairment (VI) in highly myopic eyes.
Methods: This longitudinal study enrolled highly myopic individuals who were followed up for 10 years. All participants underwent detailed ophthalmic examinations at baseline and follow-up visits.
Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is an aggressive malignancy with poor prognosis. Neutrophil infiltration has been associated with unfavorable outcomes in OSCC, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear.
Methods: This study integrated single-cell transcriptomics (scRNA-seq) with bulk RNA-seq data to analyze neutrophil infiltration patterns in OSCC and identify key gene modules using weighted gene co-expression network analysis (hdWGCNA).
Anthracycline doxorubicin (DOX) remains the first-line chemotherapeutic drug for the efficient treatment of breast cancer, but its severe cardiotoxicity limits its long-term application in clinical tumor chemotherapy. Until now, the pathogenesis mechanism of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity (DIC) is still not fully understood. According to current studies, the oxidative stress caused by the imbalance of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS) production and mitochondrial dysfunction in myocardial cells are closely related to DIC.

Purpose: Establishing the safety profile of repeated low-level red-light (RLRL) therapy is necessary prior to its widespread clinical implementation.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review (International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews, CRD42024516676) of articles across seven databases from inception through February 10, 2024, with keywords related to myopia and RLRL therapy. Pooled safety outcomes and risk-to-benefit ratios were reported, and incidence of side effects was compared with other antimyopia interventions.
Objective: The combination of epithelial growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) leads to an increased incidence of severe immune-related adverse events (irAEs). However, the mechanisms underlying macrophages in irAEs have not been elucidated.
Methods: An osimertinib and ICI-induced irAE mouse model was constructed.
Introduction: Energy metabolism abnormity emerges as a crucial factor that facilitates tumorigenesis by accelerating aerobic glycolysis. However, the function of N-methyladenosine (mA) on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) aerobic glycolysis and immune escape is still unclear. Here, this investigation was intended to elucidate the regulation of mA 'reader' IGF2BP1 involved in HCC aerobic glycolysis and immune escape.

The sensitivity and specificity of current biomarkers, however, are frequently limited. Our study aimed to evaluate the clinical significance of nuclear factor of activated T cells, cytoplasmic 3 (NFATc3), in pediatric bronchial asthma, focusing on its diagnostic and prognostic value for disease severity and recurrence.

How to migrate container accurately is crucial for edge computing in the industrial Internet, as it plays a vital role in enhancing service response speed and safeguarding uninterrupted continuity of production operations. In this paper, we explore the problem of container migration in edge computing within the industrial Internet, aiming to reduce latency and enhance reliability.

However, relying solely on the antitumor immune responses caused by PTT-induced ICD is insufficient to suppress tumor metastasis and recurrence effectively. Fortunately, multifunctional nanoformulation-based synergistic photothermal immunotherapy can eliminate primary and metastatic tumors and inhibit tumor recurrence for a long time.

Although insomnia symptoms is a common public health issue, few studies pay attention to insomnia symptoms among emerging workers in the digital economy. In this study, a total of 1093 emerging workers were recruited. Latent profile analysis was used to investigate the heterogeneity profiles and the relationship between job characteristics and these profiles.

Exploring the behavior and data of SCCO sorption and dissolution in polymers provides essential information for polymer applications. This study investigated the sorption and diffusion of SCCO into polyetherimide (PEI).

In the phase 3 KarMMa-3 trial, patients with TCE R/RMM and 2 to 4 prior regimens were randomized 2:1 to idecabtagene vicleucel (ide-cel) or standard regimens (SRs). An interim analysis (IA) demonstrated significantly longer median progression-free survival (PFS; primary end point; 13.

Cophylogeny has been identified between gut bacteria and their animal host and is highly relevant to host health, but little research has extended to gut bacteriophages. Here we use bee model to investigate host specificity and cophylogeny in the "animal-gut bacteria-phage" tripartite system. Through metagenomic sequencing upon different bee species, the gut phageome revealed a more variable composition than the gut bacteriome.

The double-flower phenotype of rapeseed has been a desirable trait in China because of its potential commercial value in ornamental tourism. However, few double-flowered germplasms have been documented in B.

This study aimed to delineate the temporal trends and project future incidence of AHE in WCBA, providing insights crucial for targeted prevention and control strategies.
Methods: Data on AHE incidence from the Global Health data 2021.
Royal Jelly (RJ) is a natural substance produced by honeybees, serving not only as nutrition for bee brood and queens but also as a functional food due to its health-promoting properties. Despite its well-known broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, the precise molecular mechanism underlying its antibacterial action has remained elusive. In this study, we investigated the impact of RJ on the bacteria model MG1655 at its half-maximal inhibitory concentration, employing LC-MS/MS to analyze proteomic changes.

After aroma (extract) dilution analysis, 67, 67, and 66 odorants were screened in sweet goji wine, semi-dry goji wine, and dry goji wine, in which, 63 odorants were identified in all goji wines. Determination of 53 odorants revealed a total of 30 odorants with the concentrations surpassing their olfactory thresholds.

Nevertheless, the impact of specific chronic rhinosinusitis types (chronic anterior/posterior/anterior and posterior rhinosinusitis) on anxiety and depression remains unexplored. From January 2022 to July 2023, we employed various assessment scales to gauge the severity of chronic rhinosinusitis and anxiety and depression among Chinese patients with chronic rhinosinusitis.

This study aimed to explore the influencing factors of infectious disease clinical skills training based on scenario simulation teaching for medical staff in China.
Methods: This hospital-based, cross-sectional study was conducted at the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen between March and December 2022.
Antibiotics are frequently employed to control bacterial diseases in honeybees, but their broad-spectrum action can disrupt the delicate balance of the gut microbiome, leading to dysbiosis. This imbalance in the gut microbiota of honeybees adversely affects their physiological health and weakens their resistance to pathogens, including viruses that significantly threaten honeybee health. In this study, we investigated whether tetracycline-induced gut microbiome dysbiosis promotes the replication of Israeli acute paralysis virus (IAPV), a key virus associated with colony losses and whether IAPV infection exacerbates gut microbiome dysbiosis.
