Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury is a severe neurovascular disease that urgently requires effective therapeutic interventions. Recently, hydrogen sulfide (HS) has garnered significant attention as a potential treatment for stroke; however, the precise and targeted delivery of HS remains a considerable challenge for its clinical application. We have developed HSDF-NH, a novel HS donor characterized by high selectivity, self-reporting capabilities, and the ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB).

Pyroptosis is one of the ways to cause proximal tubular epithelial cell death in diabetic nephropathy (DN), but the exact mechanism remains unclear. Absent in melanoma 2 (AIM2), a sensor for double-stranded DNA, creates an inflammasome that triggers the cleavage of gasdermin D (GSDMD), leading to a type of inflammatory cell death called pyroptosis. This study investigated the role of AIM2 in pyroptosis within proximal tubular epithelial cells in DN.

The family is essential for cell proliferation, differentiation, and metabolism, particularly in embryonic development and stem cell functions. However, the specific role of in porcine early embryonic development is not fully understood. This study observed high expression during the four-cell stage of porcine embryos.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 127 patients with histologically confirmed malignant tumors who underwent both 18F/68Ga-FAPI and fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) PET/CT scans. Clinical characteristics and PET/CT parameters of maximum and mean standard uptake value (SUVmax and SUVmean) of muscle at the 3rd lumbar (L3) level were reviewed.

Aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs), which have attracted attentions in the field of energy storage, is affected by dendrites and side reactions of Zn anode, resulting in an unsatisfactory performance of AZIBs. Herein, we propose a biased adsorption strategy mediated by straight-chain molecule (Scm) for stabilizing Zn anode. The dual polar termini of Scms guaranties securely anchor themselves in a parallel orientation upon the Zn anode surface.

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on hyperfluorescent system have attracted widespread attention due to their ability to simultaneously achieve improvements in efficiency, lifetime, and color purity by combining the advantages of high exciton utilization sensitizers and high-color purity emitters. Traditional hyperfluorescent systems typically involve three or four components and are severely sensitive to the doping concentration (≈0.5 wt%) of a terminal emitter, which inevitably causes high costs and difficulties in reproducibility.

Understanding how plants defend against microbial infection is critical for sustainable crop production. We previously identified a pathogen-induced long noncoding RNA (ALEX1).

Previous studies have indicated that the capacity for glucose consumption is significantly enhanced in 3T3-L1 cells overexpressing . In this study, we upregulate in 3T3-L1 cells to further probe into the downstream key metabolic genes of .

Though mild in early stages, further development of MASLD causes steatohepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cancers, and accompanied diabetes. Discovery of the critical regulators in MASLD progression hold great values in both basic and translational medicine.

It is worth noting that the high-metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell-derived exosomes have exhibited the ability to transform normal fibroblasts into CAFs, which further fosters the lung metastasis of low-metastatic HCC cells. Yet, the mechanisms underlying this tumor exosome-induced metastatic niche formation are poorly explored.

Here we characterize the tumor cell states and spatial cellular compositions of the NSCLC tumor microenvironment (TME) by analyzing single-cell transcriptomes of 232,080 cells and spatially resolved transcriptomes of tumors from 19 patients before and after ICB-chemotherapy. We find that tumor cells and secreted phosphoprotein 1-positive macrophages interact with collagen type XI alpha 1 chain-positive cancer-associated fibroblasts to stimulate the deposition and entanglement of collagen fibers at tumor boundaries, obstructing T cell infiltration and leading to poor prognosis.

Besides DNA duplex, DNA quadruplexes including G-quadruplex and i-motif show tunable structures with variable non-canonical base pairs. In this concept, based on the interaction between metal species and DNA, we classify the construction strategies of quadruplex DNA hybrid catalysts into supramolecular, covalent and coordinative modes.

Therefore, based on cerebral collateral recycle (CCR) status, we aimed to establish an effective scoring system to identify the probability of FR.
Methods: This was a multicenter retrospective cohort study.
Objective: To explore the mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) at "Fengchi" (GB 20) and "Sishencong" (EX-HN 1) on learning and memory impairment in vascular dementia (VD) rats by observing the influences on the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR)/cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element-binding protein (CREB)/brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) signaling pathway and the excitotoxicity induced by hippocampal calcium overload.
Methods: Thirty-two male SD rats of SPF grade were selected and randomized into a normal group (6 rats), a sham-operation group (6 rats) and an operation group (20 rats). VD model was established with the modified Pulsinelli's four-vessel occlusion (4-VO) method.
Objective: Localized intravascular coagulation (LIC) is a unique phenomenon associated with venous malformations (VMs). This study investigated the changes in LIC related indexes following sclerotherapy of VMs and its correlation with therapeutic efficacy.
Methods: From August 2019 to September 2023, patients who met the following criteria were enrolled into this study: (1) individuals with venous malformations accompanied by LIC; (2) those who had undergone a minimum of three sclerotherapy sessions; (3) blood coagulation function tests were conducted prior to each treatment; and (4) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans were conducted both before and after three times of treatment.
