Quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) systems are inherently unfavorable for superconductivity due to electronic instabilities and significant quantum fluctuations. This has led to a half-century-long pursuit of strong and robust Q1D superconductors. Herein, we propose an effective multiorbital chain approach that utilizes the interorbital self-doping to not only suppress the instability but also to position the Fermi level near the band edges.

Methods: 55 patients were divided into three groups: neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgery group (G1, 15 cases), chemotherapy and surgery group (G2 group, 20 cases), and surgery group (G3 group, 20 cases). Tissue samples of the tumor core zone (P0), adjacent (P1, 3-5mm from tumor), distal adjacent (P2, 7-10mm from tumor), and surgical margin (P3, 15mm from tumor) were collected.
Owing to the limited availability of biocompatible, edible and natural emulsifiers, the development of Pickering emulsions applicable to the food industry still confronts challenges. Moreover, Honokiol (HNK), due to its poor stability and susceptibility to oxidation, most of the existing delivery systems are centered on injection administration routes and relatively complex in preparation, posing significant challenges for industrialization. In this research, a Pickering emulsion system stabilized by gliadin and konjac glucomannan composite particles (GKPs) was constructed using the pH cycling method and was employed for the delivery of HNK.

Paraquat (PQ), as one of low cost and highly effective herbicide, is forbidden or severely restricted in production and sales owing to its lethal toxicity to humans. Creating an efficient and bio-friendly PQ formulation is crucial to facilitate the open use of PQ in world's agriculture.

Inhibition of the intrinsic STING pathway in GBM hampers the effectiveness of immunotherapies. To overcome this clinical limitation, a Sequential Release HydroLipo System (SRHLS) is developed, in which hydrogels and nanoparticles are combined for controlled drug release.

A critical aspect of designing thermally responsive soft actuators is to achieve spatially programmable actuation under a global thermal stimulus. Different local actuation behaviors can be encoded in one actuator to enable complex morphing structures for different tasks.

Based on Flory theory, this paper first analyzes that the high swelling property and gel strength of SHAs are attributed to the length of effective chain of crosslinker. Firstly, a series of hyperbranched crosslinker (HBC) with different molecular weights were designed and synthesized by anionic polymerization and sodium lignosulfonate (SL), which owns a hydrophilic network and remarkable biodegradation properties, was selected as a monomer.

Background: This study evaluated the effects of black tea drinks with inulin and dextrin (BTID) on postprandial plasma glucose (PG) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: An acute, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover clinical trial was carried out on T2DM patients. The subjects were randomly assigned to groups consuming placebo black tea powder or BTID (identically packaged) followed by a mixed meal tolerance test (MMTT).
Drug-induced cardiotoxicity (DICT) poses a significant challenge in the prognosis of cancer patients, particularly with the use of antineoplastic agents like anthracyclines and targeted therapies such as trastuzumab. This review delves into the intricate interplay between drugs and proteins within cardiac cells, focusing on the role of proteostasis as a therapeutic target for mitigating cardiotoxicity. We explore the modeling of proteostasis, highlighting the complex intracellular environment and the emerging techniques for monitoring proteostasis.

However, ultrasound images of the lumbar spine are complex and numerous. Moreover, long learning curves are necessary for novice physicians to memorise, master and apply this modality in their clinical practice.

The NLRP3 (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor 3) inflammasome mediates the release of the proinflammatory cytokines IL-1β (interleukin-1β) and IL-18 by activating caspase-1, which is strongly implicated in metabolic disturbances. We here sought to determine whether NLRP3 inflammasome inhibition could ameliorate obesity cardiomyopathy and if so, to further explore its underlying mechanisms.

Recently, nanoimprinting has attracted a new round of attention in the industry due to the boom in demand for augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), metalens and microlens, and even semiconductors. Slanted gratings have great application prospects in AR/VR displays because of their high efficiency in light coupling. UV-Nanoimprint lithography (UV-NIL) has been identified as one of the most feasible routes for mass manufacture of high refractive index (RI) slanted gratings.

Inhibiting copper transporter ATPase (ATP7A) was found to disrupt copper ion homeostasis, thereby enhancing the effect of cuproptosis and eventually inhibiting tumor invasion and metastasis. In this study, we develop a multifunctional nanoplatfrom based on CuS (CAPSH), designed to enhance cuproptosis in tumor cells by specifically targeting ATP7A interference, while combining thermodynamic therapy with immune effects.

Background: The aim of this study was to develop a simple risk score to estimate severe acute kidney injury (AKI) risk based on a large contemporary heart transplantation (HT) cohort.
Methods: From 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2021, all consecutive HT recipients in our institute were included and analysed for the occurrence of AKI within the first seven postoperative days. Patients transplanted between 2015 and 2019 comprised the derivation cohort, and those transplanted between 2020 and 2021 formed the validation cohort.

The mixed signal of respiratory waveform and heartbeat waveform detected by the Laser-Doppler system is processed with an intermediate-frequency (IF) interference filtering method, an enhanced extraction method and a waveform-fixing method. To filter the IF interference signals and the noise scatters in the time-frequency graph, the filtering method based on coefficient of variation (CoV) values and the enhanced curve extraction method based on noise-scatter theory are utilized in vital signal analysis. To decouple the respiratory signal and the heartbeat signal in time domain, the waveform-fixing method based on second-order difference theory is utilized in signal decoupling.
