This study revealed that ovarian nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide levels decline with age, but NMN administration significantly restores these levels, preventing ovarian atrophy and enhancing the quality and quantity of ovulated oocytes. Improvements in serum hormone secretion and antioxidant factors, along with decreased expression of proinflammatory factors, were observed.

This study aimed to explore the association between social participation and loneliness and verify whether there was a local-migrant difference in this association.
Methods: A total of 1332 older people (60 +) were included in this study with 656 MOC and 676 natives.
ERBB2 (HER2) represents a newly recognized actionable oncogenic driver in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with approved targeted therapy available. Understanding the landscape of ERBB2 alterations and co-occurring mutations is essential for guiding treatment decisions. We conducted an analysis involving 3000 NSCLC patients with all types of ERBB2 alterations, drawn from two extensive retrospective cohorts: 1281 from Geneplus (Chinese) and 1719 from Guardant360 (the United States, US).

Two-dimensional (2D) materials show promising applications in nanoelectronic devices due to their excellent physical and chemical properties, large specific surface area, and good flexibility. 2D AlSb, a representative of a new class of two-dimensional materials with a double-layer honeycomb (DLHC) structure was recently obtained in experiments and was reported to be a direct band gap semiconductor. Strain engineering is an effective way of tuning the properties of 2D materials.

Beyond social connections, the semantic relatedness among items has emerged as a crucial factor in comprehending their inherent connections. In this work, we propose a novel Multi-view Contrastive learning framework for Social Recommendation, named MultiCSR.

Parental influence on oral health-promoting behaviours is pivotal in preventing ECC. The latest WHO publications Ending Early Childhood Dental Caries and Mobile Technologies for Oral Health highlights the opportunity for mobile Health programs (including text message programs) to improve oral health behaviours and oral health self-efficacy.

Understanding the complex process of prostate tumor evolution and progression is crucial for improved diagnosis, treatments, and patient outcomes. Previous studies have focused on unraveling the dynamics of prostate cancer evolution using phylogenetic or lineage analysis approaches.

Recently, it was proposed that lymphatic metastasis was more a hallmark of tumor aggressiveness or metastatic potential than a gateway to metastases.

Background: Persistent pain is a prominent symptom of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and has been associated with cognitive decline in individuals with KOA. The amygdala, a complex structure consisting of nine subnuclei, and programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) levels play crucial roles in pain regulation and cognitive processing. This study aims to investigate the relationships among amygdala subregion volumes, cognitive function, and PD-1 levels to elucidate the underlying mechanism of cognitive decline in KOA.

Regular physical activity is widely recognized for reducing the risk of various disorders, with skeletal muscles playing a key role by releasing biomolecules that benefit multiple organs and tissues. However, many individuals, particularly the elderly and those with clinical conditions, are unable to engage in physical exercise, necessitating alternative strategies to stimulate muscle cells to secrete beneficial biomolecules. Histone acetylation and deacetylation significantly influence exercise-induced gene expression, suggesting that targeting histone deacetylases (HDACs) could mimic some exercise responses.

This study seeks to elucidate the factors contributing to the onset of ER following radiotherapy in NPC survivors.
Methods: This investigation encompassed 2,789 newly diagnosed NPC patients who underwent radical intensity-modulated radiotherapy.
To explore the predictive value of traditional machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) algorithms based on computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) images for short-term adverse outcomes in patients with acute pulmonary embolism (APE). This retrospective study enrolled 132 patients with APE confirmed by CTPA. Thrombus segmentation and texture feature extraction was performed using 3D-Slicer software.

However, in immunocompromised individuals, the inefficient support from T cells could lead to limited protection after vaccine inoculation. Here we showed that the conjugation of inducible T cell costimulatory (ICOS) onto the nanoparticle, together with immunogen, significantly enhanced the immune response of the vaccines specific for SARS-CoV-2 or human immunodeficiency virus type-1 (HIV-1) in T-deficient mice.

However, its effectiveness in immunocompromised individuals, particularly those living with HIV (PLWH), remains limited. In this study, 20 PLWH and 15 HIV-seronegative individuals were recruited to evaluate the immunogenicity of an inactivated COVID-19 vaccine in PLWH through a prospective cohort study.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA time-synchronized (TS) convergence control method for robotic manipulators is proposed. Adversely to finite-time control, a notion of time-synchronization convergence is introduced based on the ratio persistence property, which can ensure that all system components converge simultaneously in a finite time. Firstly, a robust disturbance observer is constructed to be compatible with the time-synchronized control framework and precisely estimate system uncertainties.

To enhance the functionality of these materials, it is often necessary to fabricate functional microstructures on their surfaces. Electrochemical machining (ECM) techniques demonstrate excellent machining performance for these metals, particularly in the processing of microstructures on complex curved surfaces.

However, the forecasting is often subject to uncertain factors, resulting in highly volatile and discontinuous data. To address this, a hierarchical prediction model that combines RF-XGBoost is proposed in this work.
