As a crucial element of proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs), the choice of E3 ubiquitin ligase significantly influences degradation efficacy and selectivity. However, the available arsenal of E3 ligases for PROTAC development remains underexplored, severely limiting the scope of targeted protein degradation. In this study, we identify a non-inhibitory aptamer targeting ZYG11B, a substrate receptor of the Cullin 2-RING ligase complex, as an E3 warhead for targeted protein degradation.

Structural basis for the dual roles of DPW in lipid and UDP-sugar metabolism during rice anther development.

Fatty acids and uridine diphosphate (UDP)-sugars are essential metabolites involved in the biosynthesis of polysaccharides and lipids, both of which are critical for anther development in plants. Our previous study identified Defective Pollen Wall (DPW), a rice fatty acyl carrier protein reductase (FAR), as a key factor in pollen wall formation. In this study, we demonstrate that the structure of DPW in complex with its cofactor NADP exhibits structural similarities to that of UDP-glucose epimerase (UGE).

HOXB13 in cancer development: molecular mechanisms and clinical implications.

The transcription factor HOXB13 plays crucial roles in cancer development. HOXB13 is abnormally expressed in most cancers, which makes it a valuable therapeutic target for cancer therapy. The level of HOXB13 differs significantly between healthy and cancer tissues, which indicates that the level of HOXB13 is closely related to carcinogenesis.

Aim: To explore the trajectory of self-management behaviour and its influencing factors in patients with knee osteoarthritis.

Design: This is a prospective, longitudinal observational study.

Methods: From January 2024 to April 2024, 126 patients with knee osteoarthritis who were hospitalized in two tertiary-level hospitals in Hunan Province were selected to be surveyed on the day of discharge, 1 month after discharge and 3 months after discharge using the Chinese version of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Research Measurement Scale.

The prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is rising and poses important health risks for the mother, developing fetus and offspring, even when maternal glycemic control is well managed. This study aimed to identify the differently expressed metabolites (DEMs) in maternal plasma between GDM pregnancies with good glycemic control and healthy pregnancies, along with the DEMs-related metabolism in adipose tissue. Pregnant women with scheduled caesarean sections were recruited.

Validation of existential fulfillment scale in Chinese university students.

Introduction: This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the Existential Fulfillment Scale (EFS) in a Chinese university student sample, emphasizing the cultural fit of the scale.

Methods: A cohort of 1,600 undergraduate students from six universities in Fujian Province completed questionnaires including the EFS, Meaning of Life Questionnaire (MLQ), Index of Well-Being (IWB), and Self-Depression Scale (SDS). We conducted item analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and assessments of criterion-related validity, internal consistency, and test-retest reliability.

Eculizumab treatment for Chinese patients with hemolytic paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH): efficacy and safety - a single-center study.
