Reported herein is a photochemical strategy for C(sp)-H azolation of ethers a hydrogen-atom transfer and radical-polar crossover process, offering efficient access to valuable -alkylated azoles under visible-light irradiation. The protocol is metal-free and photocatalyst-free, and exhibits good to excellent yields and broad substrate scope with regard to azoles. EPR experiments provide evidence for the formation of intermediates formed .

Background: Ischemic colitis (IC) is also known as colon ischemia and is caused by colon vascular occlusion or nonocclusion, which results in a reduced blood supply to the colon and is not significant enough to maintain the metabolic function of cells, leading to intestinal wall ischemia. Its main symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and bloody stool. In severe cases, intestinal gangrene, peritonitis, intestinal stenosis and even intestinal obstruction may occur.

Reported herein is direct C(sp)-H arylation of unprotected benzyl anilines and alkylarenes via consecutive photoinduced electron transfer by visible light irradiation. Reductive quenching cycles and radical-radical cross-coupling were involved, and electron paramagnetic resonance experiments provide evidence for the formation of radical intermediates formed . The protocol highlights transition metal free, external oxidant free, broad substrate scope, and high efficiency (>60 examples, up to 96%).

Background: To address the growing prevalence of youth mental health problems, early intervention is crucial to minimize individual, societal, and economic impacts. Indicative prevention aims to target emerging mental health complaints before the onset of a full-blown disorder. When intervening at this early stage, individuals are more responsive to treatment, resulting in cost-effective outcomes.

In the context of climate change and human factors, the drought problem is a particularly serious one, and environmental pollution caused by the abuse of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is increasingly serious. Endophytic fungi can be used as a protection option, which is ecologically friendly, to alleviate abiotic stresses on plants, promote plant growth, and promote the sustainable development of agriculture and forestry. Therefore, it is of great significance to screen and isolate endophytic fungi that are beneficial to crops from plants in special habitats.

Article Synopsis
  • PEDOT is a promising material in organic electronics due to its high conductivity and flexibility, and it can be enhanced by using ionic liquids (ILs) with varying cation and anion ratios.
  • Dynamics simulations and quantum mechanics computations showed that specific ion ratios (2:1, 3:1, 4:1) significantly improved the hole mobility of PEDOT, achieving nearly 100-fold conductivity enhancement compared to the original material.
  • This improvement is attributed to the ordering of PEDOT's molecular structure and the active role of anions in facilitating charge transport, also increasing the material's electron-donating ability.

The activity of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdTase) is a biomarker for routine diagnosis of acute leukemia. A method has been developed for the determination of TdTase activity. It is based on the use of silver nanoclusters (AgNCs) whose yellow fluorescence is enhanced by an in-situ grown DNA tail of TdTase-polymerized and guanine-rich DNA at the 3' end of a hairpin DNA.

The water circulation in deep aquifers controls not only chemical composition of the groundwater, but also stable isotope composition. In order to analyze the flow field in the process of the deep groundwater circulation in different aquifers, specimens belonging to the fourth aquifer in the Quaternary (the fourth aquifer for short), the coal and sandstone cranny aquifer in the Permian, and Carboniferous (the coal catena aquifer for short), the Taiyuan group limestone aquifer in the Carboniferous (the Taiyuan limestone aquifer for short), and the limestone aquifer in the Ordovician (the Ordovician limestone aquifer for short) were gained from the top down in Renlou colliery and local Linhuan coalmine district, northern Anhui, China, in the study. δD, δ(18)O, and the content of tall dissolve solids (TDS for short) of these specimens were tested.
