To date, the relevant literature is primarily based on pan-tumour species, with only a few studies exploring SM specifically in relation to breast cancer. As such, the present retrospective study explored the clinicopathological characteristics and prognoses of patients with SMBC at the breast care centre of the authors' hospital.

Objective: To assess trends and cross-country inequality in the global burden of six GI cancers from 1990 to 2021 among individuals in the WAP.
Design: The 2021 Global Burden of Disease study dataset was used to obtain estimates of GI cancer incidence and 95% uncertainty intervals, including the number of cases, crude incidence rate and age-standardised incidence rate (ASIR).
The treatment of bone defects remains a great clinical challenge. With the development of science and technology, bone tissue engineering technology has emerged, which can mimic the structure and function of natural bone tissues and create solutions for repairing or replacing human bone tissues based on biocompatible materials, cells and bioactive factors. Hydrogels are favoured by researchers due to their high water content, degradability and good biocompatibility.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLeaf angle is a major agronomic trait that determines plant architecture, which directly affects rice planting density, photosynthetic efficiency, and yield. The plant phytohormones brassinosteroids (BRs) and the MAPK signaling cascade are known to play crucial roles in regulating the leaf angle, but the underlying molecular mechanisms are not fully understood. Here, we report a rice WRKY family transcription factor gene, OsWRKY72, which positively regulates leaf angle by affecting lamina joint development and BR signaling.

Traditionally, these factors have been assessed using separate instruments and different methodologies. Here, we adopt the spatially averaged phosphorescence lifetime approach using Re-diimine complexes (Re-probe) to enable simultaneous quantification of these two critical factors in healing wounds.

Curcumin has been demonstrated to possess anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties; however, our preliminary research found that the analgesic efficiency of curcumin is not high in BCP. Consequently, curcumin analogs have emerged as a significant focus of our research.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAristolochic Acid I (AAI) is widely present in traditional Chinese medicines derived from the Aristolochia genus and is known to cause significant damage to renal tubular epithelial cells. Genome-wide screening has proven to be a powerful tool in identifying critical genes associated with the toxicity of exogenous substances. To identify undiscovered key genes involved in AAI-induced renal toxicity, a genome-wide CRISPR library screen was conducted in the human kidney-2 (HK-2) cell line.

Methods: Whole-exome sequencing was performed on 19 pediatric ANE patients at Beijing Children's Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University between 2017 and 2020. A systematic literature review was also conducted on the clinical characteristics and spectrum analysis of RANBP2 mutations.
Inflammasomes represent a crucial component of the innate immune system, which respond to threats by recognizing different molecules. These are known as pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) or host-derived damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). In neurodegenerative diseases and neuroinflammation, the accumulation of misfolded proteins, such as beta-amyloid and alpha-synuclein, can lead to inflammasome activation, resulting in the release of interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18.

" Accumulibacter" is a unique and pivotal genus of polyphosphate-accumulating organisms prevalent in wastewater treatment plants and plays mainstay roles in the global phosphorus cycle. However, the efforts to fully understand their genetic and metabolic characteristics are largely hindered by major limitations in existing sequence-based annotation methods. Here, we reported an integrated approach combining pangenome analysis, protein structure prediction and clustering, and meta-omic characterization, to uncover genetic and metabolic traits previously unexplored for .

It is currently treated with a combination of medication and surgery. However, some patients do not experience complete pain relief even after surgery and often experience a period of mild pain until a complete cure.

Technique: Three patients with esophageal or gastric fundus variceal hemorrhage complicated by severe PVO were treated using innovative DIPS approaches. Preoperative contrast-enhanced computed tomography was employed to assess anatomical feasibility.
Background: Campylobacter species are zoonotic pathogens, and are considered to be the major foodborne pathogen that causes outbreaks and sporadic gastrointestinal illnesses both in developed and developing countries. In this study, the molecular typing and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli isolates from patients and raw meat between 2021 and 2022 in Huzhou were analyzed by using pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), multilocus sequence typing (MLST) and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
Methods: From September 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022, a total of 342 fecal specimens from diarrheal patients at a sentinel hospital in Huzhou and 168 samples of raw meat products collected from farmers' markets and supermarkets, were subjected to Campylobacter isolation and identification.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a malignant disorder of the hematopoietic system, arises from leukemic stem cells (LSCs) and is the most prevalent form of blood cancer in adults. This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic potential of polydatin (PD) in AML through and studies, respectively. This study was prompted by PD's novel role in enhancing tumor apoptosis and modulating autophagy.

However, the effective strategy for prevention or treatment of benzene-induced hematotoxicity remains unsolved. We previously administrated hepatocyte-specific deletion of Ppp2r1a gene (encoding PP2A Aα subunit) mice with benzene via inhalation for 28 days, and found homozygote (HO) mice exhibited alleviative hematotoxicity compared with wild type (WT) mice.
