Purpose: Sarcopenia is an age-related disease that is related to nutritional intake and chronic low-grade inflammation. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of dietary intake, inflammatory markers and sarcopenia among the community-dwelling older adults.
Methods: A total of 1001 older adults aged 60 and above were recruited.
Gut microbiota has a symbiotic relationship with the host and is closely linked to the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Polysaccharides are natural bioactive compounds with beneficial effects on T2DM; however, the mechanisms underlying their effects remain unclear. This study investigated the hypoglycemic effects of a purified polysaccharide, RB-P1-1, from Ramaria botrytoides and assessed its association with gut microbiota and metabolite changes using 16S rDNA sequencing and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, respectively.

We constructed two DL-based segmentation models to delineate the FT, OD, peripapillary atrophy (PPA), and macula at a pixel-level resolution. The study sought to identify differences in fundus characteristics between eyes categorized as having high myopia versus mild or moderate myopia.

Radiological remission was observed on follow-up FAP imaging 7 months later with squamous cell carcinoma antigen decreased to normal level. No other abnormality monitored by routine laboratory examination was noted.

The 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) is widely used for diagnosing cardiovascular diseases in clinical practice. Recently, deep learning methods have become increasingly effective for automatically classifying ECG signals. However, most current research simply combines the 12-lead ECG signals into a matrix without fully considering the intrinsic relationships between the leads and the heart's structure.

This study included 10,972 subjects from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2007-2016. Participants were measured body weight and height at baseline and recalled weight at young adulthood and middle adulthood.

To date, there has been a notable absence of studies examining this polymorphism. The primary aim of the current investigation is to elucidate the potential role of the XRCC3 Thr241Met polymorphism as a risk factor in the development of pancreatic cancer.

Lead poisoning in children is a non-negligible and ongoing threat to children's health and optimal development worldwide. There is no sufficient scientometric analysis available on this subject, though. Aiming to uncover the research development, hotspots, and possible future orientation, we performed a scientometric analysis of related publications from 2012 to 2022.

Background: is a multidrug-resistant (MDR) opportunistic pathogen with high resistance to most clinically used antimicrobials. The dissemination of MDR and difficult treatment of its infection in clinical settings are global issues.
Methods: To provide more genetic information on and find a better treatment strategy, we isolated five , SMYN41-SMYN45, from a Chinese community that were subjected to antibiotic susceptibility testing, biofilm formation assay, and whole-genome sequencing.
Background: With the establishment of the cardiac-gut axis concept, increasing evidence has suggested the involvement and important regulatory role of the gut microbiota (GM) and short chain fatty acid (SCFA) in cardiovascular diseases. However, the relationship between GM and atrial fibrillation (AF) is still poorly understood.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate whether there were differences in GM and SCFA between AF patients and healthy controls.
Introduction: Breast cancer remains a significant global health challenge, accounting for 2.3 million new cases in 2020 and ranking as the most prevalent cancer by incidence and the fourth in cancer-related mortality worldwide. In China, breast cancer also rapidly increases incidence and burden.

Unlike the traditional human serum test, this study reports a sensing platform that incorporates a wearable microneedle (MN) patch and trimetallic Au@Ag-Pt nanoparticles (NPs) for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and colorimetric dual-mode detecting TYR in human skin toward potential melanoma screening. In the presence of TYR, catechol immobilized on MN is preferentially oxidized to benzoquinone, which competitively impedes the interaction of MN and Au@Ag-Pt NPs, triggering the SERS-colorimetric signal reciprocal switch.

Scarring can lead to low self-esteem, social impairment, depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric and psychological distress, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of the latest perspectives, topical research, and directions in scarring-mental health. This is a biblioshiny and VOSviewer based bibliometric analysis study.

Methods: We initially identified relevant studies from previous meta-analyses and then conducted a comprehensive search of PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) databases to locate additional studies published between February 2020 and September 2021. Essential data were extracted, and a network meta-analysis was performed using R 4.
Over the past decade, thousands of articles have been published on the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) and its role in breast cancer. However, the variability and heterogeneity of academic data may impact the acquisition of published research information. Due to the large number, heterogeneity, and varying quality of publications related to mTOR and breast cancer, sorting out the present state of the research in this area is critical for both researchers and clinicians.

Our scientometric research in this paper offers a thorough overview of endoscopic thyroidectomy from 2013 to 2022.
Methods: All pertinent articles on endoscopic thyroidectomy were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection Database.
A new lateral flow immunoassay strip (LFIA) combining sensitive detection and identification of multiple bacteria remains a huge challenge. In this study, we first developed multifunctional urchin-shaped Au-Ag@Pt nanoparticles (UAA@P NPs) with a unique combination of colorimetric-SERS-photothermal-catalytic (CM/SERS/PT/CL) properties and integrated them with LFIA for multiplexed detection and specific discrimination of pathogenic bacteria in blood samples. Unlike the conventional LFIA that relied on antibody (Ab), this novel LFIA introduced 4-mercaptophenylboronic acid (4-MPBA) as an ideal Ab replacer that was functionalized on UAA@P NPs (UAA@P/M NPs) with outstanding binding and enrichment capacities toward bacteria.
