Traditional Chinese medicine has a long and illustrious history, and with the development of modern science and technology, the research and application of traditional Chinese medicines have continued to progress significantly. Many traditional Chinese medicinal herbs have undergone scientific validation, reinvigorating with new life and vitality, and contributing unique strengths to the advancement of human health. Recently, the discovery that leech total protein extracted from lyophilized powder reduces blood uric acid (UA) levels by inhibiting the activity of xanthine oxidase to decrease UA synthesis and promotes UA excretion by regulating different UA transporters in the kidney and intestine has undoubtedly injected new vitality and hope into this field of research.

Beta-AlO-based solid-state sodium metal batteries are some of the best options for large-scale energy storage systems because of their high energy density, high-level safety, and low cost. Nevertheless, their room-/low-temperature operation remains challenging due to low ionic conductivity of Beta-AlO electrolyte and weak solid-solid contact of the Na/Beta-AlO interface. Herein, an integrated strategy was developed via electrolyte optimization and interface regulation, in which Cu as a stabilizing agent was incorporated into Beta-AlO to improve density and ionic conductivity and the InS interface layer was introduced between the Na anode and solid electrolyte to induce the in situ formation of a mixed conductive layer (Na-In alloy and NaS).

In the ongoing quest for new treatments in medicine, traditional Chinese medicine offers unique insights and potential. Recently, studies on the ability of to inhibit M2-type tumour-associated macrophage polarisation by modulating the Wnt/β-catenin signalling pathway to suppress liver cancer have undoubtedly revealed new benefits and hope for this field of research. The purpose of this article is to comment on this study and explore its strengths and weaknesses, thereby providing ideas for the future treatment of liver cancer.

However, the relationship among exercise training, SIRT3, and MQC after cerebral ischemia remains obscure. This study attempted to elucidate the relationship among exercise training, SIRT3 and MQC after cerebral ischemia in rats.

Exploring ways to improve the performance of rotating bands is of great importance for enhancing the power of modern artillery. This study prepared graphene oxide-coated Nylon (GO-Nylon) and Nylon samples based on nylon rotating bands in artillery systems to investigate the feasibility of introducing GO-coated nylon rotating band materials to enhance their tribological and thermal properties. The friction behavior and thermal effects of these two surfaces were analyzed under different external loads and surface roughness conditions.

Currently, slightly acidic electrolyzed water (SAEW) has been shown to be potent in maintaining the storability of fruits and vegetables. Accordingly, this work was designed to figure out the effectiveness of SAEW on storability maintenance in postharvest guavas via regulating the phenylpropane metabolism.

Uni-modal NER and RE approaches solely rely on text information for knowledge extraction, leading to various limitations, such as suboptimal performance and low efficiency in recognizing polysemous words. With the development of multi-modal learning, multi-modal named entity recognition (MNER) and multi-modal relation extraction (MRE) have been introduced to improve recognition performance.

Nitrogen removal from the combined anaerobic digestion dehydration liquor (CADDL) of municipal sludge and urban organic wastes is challenging due to high ammonium concentrations, low C/N ratio, and poor biodegradability. This study proposes a multi-stage anoxic/oxic (A/O) sequencing batch reactor with step feeding to realize partial nitrification and denitrification for shortcut nitrogen removal from the CADDL. We investigated the effects of external carbon source (acetate), dissolved oxygen (DO), A/O duration ratio, and A/O stage number on biological nitrogen removal.

Herein, three isomeric SMAs (CH-F, CH-C and CH-B) are constructed by delicately rebuilding peripheral F, Cl, Br footprints on both central and end units. Such a re-permutation of peripheral halogens could not only maintain the structural symmetry of SMAs to the maximum, but also acquire extra asymmetric benefits of enhanced dipole moment and intramolecular charge transfer, etc.

During the wet salting processing, increased salinity inhibited myogenic fibers swelling and extracellular space expansion, and resulted in lower water content and higher salt content of salted large yellow croaker products. During refrigeration of salted large yellow croakers at 4 °C for 24 days, SDS-PAGE patterns showed that high salinity slowed down the degradation of proteins, which was further confirmed by changes in free amino acids (FAAs) and biogenic amine contents.

This study enrolled 136 patients from 2020 to 2021 and collected bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) specimens. We used metatranscriptome to analyze the lower respiratory tract microbiome (LRTM) and host immune response.

However, its application has been limited by the complexities of the ischemic microenvironment. Hydrogel scaffolds, which are composed of hyaluronic acid and chitosan, exhibit excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, making them promising candidates as cell carriers.

Herein, a metallaphotoredox catalytic protocol has been developed on the basis of a tertiary amine-ligated boryl radical-induced halogen atom transfer process under blue-light irradiation. A wide variety of aryl and heteroaryl bromides featuring different functional groups and pharmaceutical moieties were facilely coupled to rapidly install C(sp)-enriched aromatic scaffolds.

Most patients present with acute Q-fever accompanied by atypical flu-like symptoms, with only 1%-5% of cases may develop into persistent and focally infected foci, mainly manifest as endocarditis, osteomyelitis and prosthetic arthritis. In this case, the patient experienced an unexplained and uninterrupted fever up to 39.
