Objectives: To observe the efficacy of acupuncture for reducing the south to reinforce the north on executive function, sleep structure and sleep quality in patients with chronic insomnia disorder of heart-kidney disharmony.
Methods: A total of 100 patients with chronic insomnia disorder of heart-kidney disharmony were randomized into an acupuncture group (50 cases, 1 case dropped out) and a western medication group (50 cases, 2 cases dropped out). Acupuncture for reducing the south to reinforce the north was applied at Baihui (GV 20) and bilateral Shenmen (HT 7), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Shenmai (BL 62), Zhaohai (KI 6), Xinshu (BL 15), Shenshu (BL 23) in the acupuncture group, once a day, 5 days a week.
The management of inoperable locally recurrent or oligometastatic soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) remains a clinical challenge. This study aimed to explore the long-term outcomes of stereotactic ablative brachytherapy (SABT) for these patients. Patients diagnosed with inoperable locally recurrent or oligometastatic STS from eight hospitals between 2006 and 2021 underwent iodine-125 (I-125) seed SABT, either with or without the assistance of three-dimensional (3D)-printing templates.

Materials And Methods: Between November 2013 and October 2020, a total of 130 patients (including 75 men with a median age of 63 years) with rCWC treated with SABT were enrolled in this multicenter retrospective study. There were 97 cases of non-small-cell lung carcinoma, 24 cases of breast cancer, and 9 cases of thymic cancer.
Background/objective: This multicenter study aimed to explore the efficacy and toxicity of radioactive Iodine-125 seed implantation for lymph node recurrence in patients with esophageal cancer after external radiotherapy.
Methods: Clinical data of eligible patients from 5 centers in China were retrospectively reviewed. A total of 126 patients between January 2016 and March 2019 were included.
Objective: To compare the effect on chronic insomnia disorder (CID) and influences on episodic memory and sleep structure between acupuncture and estazolam tablets.
Methods: A total of 140 CID patients were randomized into a meridian-point group (46 cases, 1 case dropped off), a non-meridian-and-non-acupoint group (47 cases, 2 cases dropped off) and a medication group (47 cases, 2 cases dropped off). In the meridian-point group, Baihui (GV 20), Shenmen (HT 7), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Zhaohai (KI 6) and Shenmai (BL 62) were selected and the routine acupuncture was applied.
Background: Delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) is a severe complication after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). Tissue kallikrein (TK), a subgroup of serine proteinases, is an important component of the kallikrein-kinin system. Exogenous TK attenuated cerebral vasospasm in a rabbit model of subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Background: The STK15 gene located on chromosome 20q13.2 encodes a centrosome-associated kinase critical for regulated chromosome segregation and cytokinesis. Recent studies have demonstrated STK15 to be significantly associated with many tumors, with aberrant expression obseved in many human malignancies.

We evaluated the effect of Paris saponin on inhibition of cervical cancer in mice and on immune regulation in tumor-bearing mice. MTT assay was used to examine the effect of Paris saponin on U14 cell proliferatiosn in vitro; the ascites tumor model of U14 cervical cancer was established to observe the effect of Paris saponin on inhibition of the tumor and on survival time of mice; and serum IL-4 and IFN-γ levels in tumor-bearing mice were detected. The Paris saponin showed significant inhibitory effect on growth of cervical cancer U14 cells both in vitro and in vivo, prolonged the survival time of mice, increased the serum IFN-γ level of tumor-bearing mice, and reduced the serum IL-4 level.

Methods: This experimental study was conducted between May 2009 and August 2012 in the School of Radiation Medicine and Protection, Soochow University, Suzhou, China. HeLa and Siha cells were assigned as the control group and DHA as treated group.

Objective: To investigate the frequencies of alleles and the association with risk of esophageal cancer in a Mongolian population, and to compare the allele frequencies of these polymorphisms between the two populations and the susceptibility to esophageal cancer.
Methods: A case-control study was conducted, and 8 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP), including FAS - 670G/A, FAS - 1377G/A, FASL -844T/C, COX-2 - 1290A/G, COX-2 - 1195G/A, STK15 Phe31Ile, MMP-2 - 1306C/T and MMP -2 -735C/T, were detected by polymerase chain reaction-based restriction fragment length polymorphism assay (PCR-RFLP) in 188 esophageal cancer cases and 324 normal controls of Mongolian. The odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated by unconditional logistic regression.
