The initial injection of PEGylated nanoparticles can activate antibodies and the complement system, leading to the accelerated blood clearance (ABC) phenomenon, characterized by reduced circulation time and abnormal liver and spleen accumulation upon re-exposure. However, PEGylation is not essential for ABC induction, as non-PEGylated nanoparticles can also trigger the similar ABC phenomenon. In this study, we found non-PEGylated nanoemulsions (CE) could accelerate the blood clearance of subsequent injection of PEGylated nanoemulsions (PE) in beagles and rats, which was independent of antibodies and the complement system, but was associated with an increase in neutrophil numbers and phagocytic activity.

Rationale: Slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) is a common adolescent hip disorder, but its association with hypothyroidism remains rare and poorly understood. This case highlights the importance of considering endocrine disorders, such as hypothyroidism, as potential risk factors in atypical SCFE presentations, particularly when trauma or other common etiologies are absent.
Patient Concerns: A 14-year-old boy presented with progressive, nontraumatic left hip pain that worsened over 6 weeks, eventually leading to complete immobility.
Background: Early spontaneous abortion (ESA) is one of the most common clinically recognized pregnancy complications. While multiple factors such as embryo abnormalities and maternal conditions may contribute to ESA, early identification and screening of maternal risk factors are increasingly important to explore the potential etiologies and improve prevention and treatment strategies for ESA. This study investigates the changes in uterine microbiota and the decidual immune response in ESA patients without embryo abnormalities.

However, given the heterogeneity of colorectal cancer (CRC), prognosis is challengingly predictive. Therefore, we aim to construct a prognostic model using BM-associated genes to assess patient prognosis and clinical drug treatment effects.

With the growth of the population and the development of industry and agriculture, water resources are experiencing contamination by numerous pollutants, posing a threat to the aquatic environment and human health. Zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) membranes, as a solution for water pollutant treatment, not only have the advantages of high efficiency adsorption, good selectivity, stability, and easy recyclability, but they also can be modified or derivatized through surface functionalization, compositing, or structural tuning, which can further endow the membranes with other functions, such as catalysis and degradation. In order to improve the performance of ZIF membranes, it is crucial to select suitable preparation methods to optimize the microstructure of the membranes and to improve the separation performance and stability of the membranes.

Nucleic acids, which are fundamental to living organisms, play a crucial role in carrying and transmitting genetic information. Advances in molecular biology have led to the exploration of functional nucleic acids (FNAs), including aptamers, DNAzymes, and G-quadruplexes, known for specific recognition or catalysis. FNAs with high specificity, sequence programmability, modification ease and biocompatibility, have extensive applications in biosensing, environmental monitoring, drug delivery and cancer diagnosis.

The spectral radiance calibration function determines the measurement accuracy of the spectroradiometer. However, the general full-field calibration method results in higher spectral radiance values when dealing with targets that only partially fill the field of view (FOV).

We identified 1673 oral cancer patients from 2011 to 2021 in Fujian, China. We evaluated annual average concentrations of PM and constituents, including nitrate, sulfate, ammonium, black carbon (BC), and organic matter (OM), using bilinear interpolation based on the patients' residential address.

Multiple genetic analyses of the proband and family members were performed, including chromosome karyotype analysis, whole exome sequencing, nanopore sequencing, PCR amplification, and Sanger sequencing. The results of G-binding karyotyping, CGG repeats for FMR1, GGC repeats for NOTCH2NCL, and trio-whole-exome sequencing were negative for the proband and his parents.

Unlike the continuous polar layers in perovskite ferroelectrics, HfO/ZrO-based ferroelectrics are composed of alternating polar layers with oxygen shifts and non-polar spacers, which leads to a distinct ferroelectric switching mechanism. However, directly observing the switching process has been a big challenge due to the polymorph feature of nanoscale fluorites and the difficulty in in situ imaging on light elements.

Part of the traditional intermuscular OA is not covered by muscle and is easily damaged during surgery. Currently, there are few reports on how to protect this segment of the OA.

Zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) is usually used as a nanocarrier of nanopesticide, which has a porous structure and stimuli-responsive properties. However, the drug loading performance and stability of ZIF are poor.

These conditions disrupt the balance of inflammatory mediators and signaling pathways, resulting in impaired physiological functions in human tissues and organs. Ferroptosis, a distinct form of programmed cell death, plays a pivotal role in regulating tissue damage and modulating inflammatory responses, thereby influencing the onset and progression of severe illnesses.

High greenhouse gas emissions and soil deterioration are caused by the overuse of chemical fertilizers. To improve soil quality and crop productivity, it is necessary to utilize fewer chemical fertilizers to achieve sustainable agriculture. Organic substitution is a scientific fertilization strategy that will benefit future agricultural productivity development, little is known about how it affects the heavy metal content and trace gas emissions in rice grains.
