Two unique cell death modalities, ferroptosis and pyroptosis, provide a new perspective on the mechanisms leading to autoimmune diseases, and development of new treatment strategies.
Methods: Using scRNA-seq datasets, the aberrant trend of ferroptosis and pyroptosis-related genes were analyzed in several representative autoimmune diseases (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, multiple sclerosis, systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease, Crohn's disease, and experimental autoimmune orchitis).

The PA28 family proteasome activators play important roles in regulating proteasome activities. Though the three paralogs (PA28α, PA28β, and PA28γ) are similar in terms of primary sequence, they show significant differences in expression pattern, cellular localization and most importantly, biological functions. While PA28αβ is responsible for promoting peptidase activity of proteasome to facilitate MHC-I antigen processing, but unable to promote protein degradation, PA28γ is well-known to not only promote peptidase activity but also proteolytic activity of proteasome.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: To evaluate the prognostic value of the ratio of the standard uptake value of the lymph node and primary tumor before the treatment of locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma and examine the prognostic value of the tumor metabolic parameters (SUVmax MTV, and TLG) of the lymph node and primary tumor of locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Methods: A total of 180 patients with locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma diagnosed pathologically from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018 were selected, and the MEDEX system was used to automatically delineate the SUVmax, MTV, and TLG of the lymph node metastases and nasopharyngeal carcinoma primary tumor. In addition, the ratio of LN-SUVmax (SUVmax of the lymph node metastases) to T-SUVmax (SUVmax of the nasopharyngeal carcinoma primary tumor) was calculated, and a ROC curve was drawn to obtain the best cut-off value.
Objective: To explore alterations in white matter network topology in de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) patients with rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD).
Materials And Methods: This study included 171 de novo PD patients and 73 healthy controls (HC) recruited from the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) database. The patients were divided into two groups, PD with probable RBD (PD-pRBD, = 74) and PD without probable RBD (PD-npRBD, = 97), according to the RBD screening questionnaire (RBDSQ).
Background: Coactosin-like protein (COTL1) was first identified as protein that binds 5-lipoxygenase and F-actin; its functions in tumors remain unknown. COTL1 could inhibit the proliferation of breast cancer (BRCA) in vivo and in vitro; however, online public databases including UALCAN and Kaplan-Meier plotter showed high COTL1 expression in breast cancer tissue, which was correlated with poor prognosis. Therefore, we studied the role of COTL1 expression in human breast cancer and its use in determining clinical prognosis.

Method: In this retrospective study, serum SOD of 90 health check-ups were tested in our hospital. A total of 94 hospitalized patients with anti-MDA5-positive DM had ILD.

The initial assessment indicated that Ir-Biotin shows excellent PDT activity with a high singlet-oxygen (O) generation yield (0.19) due to the facilitated intersystem crossing process.

Methods: We performed a literature search of the PubMed, EMBASE, Medline, and CENTRAL databases using the following search terms: ("cerebrl plsy" or "cerebrl plsis" or "infantile cerebral palsy") and ("risk factors"). Case-control or cohort studies of children with cerebral palsy and healthy children were included for meta-analysis.
This study aimed to investigate the mismatch between the preferred and actual roles in the medical decision-making of intensive care unit (ICU) patients' family members and the relationship between the role mismatch of family members' decisions and anxiety and depression syndromes. A total of 223 family members of ICU patients in the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University in China were enrolled. The simple Chinese version of the Control Preference Scale was used to complete the surveys to assess the preferred and actual roles, and anxiety and depression syndromes were measured using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 scale and Patient Health Questionnaire-9, respectively.
