Background: Postoperative and ongoing treatment of breast cancer is traumatic to women with breast cancer and may lead to positive and negative psychological diseases, which can affect the prognosis of patients with breast cancer. Positive affect (PA) and negative affect (NA) significantly impact the prognosis of postoperative breast cancer patients. However, the effects of specific emotions on patient prognosis and the relationships between them are still unclear.

The aim of this study was to assess the association between the age-adjusted Charlson Comorbidity Index (ACCI) and postoperative complications among kidney transplant (KT) recipients.
Methods: Between January 2015 and March 2021, a study involving 886 kidney transplant recipients at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University was conducted.
Purpose: Exploring the computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET)/CT Multimodal Imaging Characteristics of Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT) to enhance the diagnostic proficiency of this condition.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on clinical data and multimodal imaging manifestations (CT, MRI, FDG-PET/CT) of eight cases of DSRCT. These findings were systematically compared with pathological results to succinctly summarize imaging features and elucidate their associations with both clinical and pathological characteristics.
Background: Cryptococcosis is an opportunistic fungal infection in immunocompromised patients. The major species include Cryptococcus grubii, Cryptococcus neoformans, and rarely, Cryptococcus gattii. Here we present a disseminated Cryptococcus gattii infection in a patient with elevated granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating-factor autoantibody which was successfully treated with antifungal therapy.

However, despite extensive efforts over the past decades, producing large quantities of desired ultrathin diamond membranes for widespread use remains challenging. Here we demonstrate that edge-exposed exfoliation using sticky tape is a simple, scalable and reliable method for producing ultrathin and transferable polycrystalline diamond membranes.

Despite recent approvals of immune checkpoint inhibitors and targeted therapy for muscle invasive or recurrent BC, options remain limited for patients with non-muscle invasive BC (NMIBC) refractory to Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) and chemotherapy. NMIBC is more frequently classified as a luminal subtype, in which increased PPARγ activity is a key feature in promoting tumor growth and evasion of immunosurveillance.

The aim of this study was to examine the larvicidal and ovicidal properties of Xanthium strumarium extract against a notorious tick species, Rhipicephalus microplus.
Methodology: The maceration method was used to prepare the ethanolic extract of X.

Objective: To explore the difference in effectiveness between a dynamic rehabilitation protocol and a traditional static rehabilitation protocol after the treatment of acute Achilles tendon rupture with channel assisted minimally invasive repair (CAMIR) technique through a prospective comparative trial, aiming to provide a reference for clinically selecting a feasible treatment regimen.
Methods: Patients with acute Achilles tendon rupture admitted between June 2021 and June 2022 were included in the study, with 60 patients meeting the selection criteria. They were randomly divided into a dynamic rehabilitation group ( =30) and a static rehabilitation group ( =30) using a computer-generated random number method.
Purpose: This prospective study aimed to validate the translated Chinese versions of the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI), 5-Item Dry Eye (DEQ-5), and Contact Lens Dry Eye Questionnaire-8 (CLDEQ-8) questionnaires and test their repeatability.
Methods: From August 2022 to July 2023, online (qualtrics.com) English and Chinese versions of OSDI, DEQ-5, and CLDEQ-8 questionnaires were distributed to residents of Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, and Singapore ≥ 18 years old who could understand both written Chinese and English.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate a novel respiratory frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar-trigger (FT) technique for multiple -b-value diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of liver and compare it with conventional free breathing (FB) DWI technique.
Material And Methods: 39 patients with focal liver lesions underwent both frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar-trigger (FT) and conventional free-breathing (FB) multi-b-value diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI,b = 0,50,400,800 s/mm. Two abdominal radiologists independently assessed the quality of liver DWI images obtained using both techniques, measured and compared liver signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) at different b-values, as well as apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values calculated from all b-values.
Exposure to airborne bacteria poses significant risks to human health, highlighting the need for on-site sampling and detection to facilitate control and early warning. Commercial dissolvable gelatin filters are efficient samplers but can only dissolve in warm water. This study developed nanofiber gelatin filters that can rapidly dissolve in room-temperature water, facilitating on-site sampling and detecting of airborne bacteria when combined with adenosine triphosphate (ATP) analysis.

In recent years, several methods have been proposed based on computer vision and deep learning have been proposed, which can provide objective and stable evaluations. However, these methods suffer from a lack of standardized data collection methods and large-scale datasets for training, leading to poor model performance and limited generalization capabilities.

Nonetheless, its resolution faces limitations due to a diminished signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in high-frequency regions. Addressing this challenge, X-ray ensemble diffraction microscopy (XEDM) emerges as a viable solution, ensuring an adequate SNR in high-frequency regions and effectively surmounting resolution constraints.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOver the past decade, lead halide perovskites (LHPs), an emerging class of organic-inorganic ionic-type semiconductors, have drawn worldwide attention, which injects vitality into next-generation optoelectronics. Facilely tunable bandgap is one of the fascinating features of LHPs, enabling them to be widely used in various nano/microscale applications. Notably, wide-bandgap (WBG) LHPs have been considered as promising alternatives to traditional WBG semiconductors owing to the merits of low-cost, solution processability, superior optoelectronic characteristics, and flexibility, which could improve the cost-effectiveness and expand the application scenarios of traditional WBG devices.
