The widely distributed heat shock protein DnaJ is renowned for its pivotal role in enhancing thermal tolerance in plants; however, its involvement in drought tolerance remains elusive. In this study, genes encoding DnaJ1 were cloned from drought-resistant wild tomato (Solanum pennellii) and drought-sensitive cultivated tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). SpDnaJ1 and SlDnaJ1 from both tomato species were localized in the chloroplast, and their gene expression was induced by various abiotic stresses.

However, identifying responders to PCSK9 inhibitors remains unclear. This study investigates the characteristics of patients who achieve target LDL-C reduction (< 70 mg/dl) after PCSK9 inhibitor therapy.

With the explosive growth of terminal devices, scheduling massive parallel task streams has become a core challenge for distributed platforms. For computing resource providers, enhancing reliability, shortening response times, and reducing costs are significant challenges, particularly in achieving energy efficiency through scheduling to realize green computing. This paper investigates the heterogeneous parallel task flow scheduling problem to minimize system energy consumption under response time constraints.

This study aimed to explore the impact of language and motor plasticity during toddlerhood and early preschool years on intelligence in late preschool, with an additional consideration of the influence of ASD and ADHD diagnoses.
Methods: We retrospectively collected medical chart from 423 children aged 2-5 years (316 boys and 107 girls; mean age at Time 1: 3.
Objective: The complex interplay between inflammatory cytokines and sepsis is not well understood. This study employs Mendelian Randomization (MR) to investigate the causal relationships between various inflammatory cytokines and sepsis, aiming to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
Methods: This study employed a bidirectional MR approach to investigate the causal effects of inflammatory cytokines on sepsis and vice versa.
Background: High-fat diets (HFD) can lead to excessive accumulation of lipids in the liver, leading to liver injury. Dietary zinc (Zn) has been shown to reduce high-fat diets-induced lipid accumulation and improve lipid profiles in mammals, yet it remains unclear whether waterborne Zn maintains its lipid-lowering effects in osteichthyes.
Objective: This study aimed to elucidate the regulatory role of Zn in high fat diet-induced hepatic lipid accumulation in yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) and its potential mechanisms.
Introduction: Hydrofluoric acid is extremely toxic and can corrode tissues while reacting with calcium and magnesium, leading to severe tissue damage. The antidote, calcium gluconate, is effective for treating mild to moderate burns. However, our hospital lacks registered calcium gluconate gel, making treatment challenging.

Here, we present a protocol for performing carotid artery cannulation, organ and tissue collection, in situ brain perfusion and fixation, and brain dissection in mice. We describe steps for cannulating the carotid artery, harvesting the heart and other organs, and perfusing, fixing, and dissecting the brain.

Nevertheless, strong interaction between active sites and OOH intermediates usually induces the O─O bond cleavage to convert 2e pathway into the sluggish 4e ORR. Therefore, it is highly necessary to optimize the electronic structure of 2e ORR electrocatalysts for the regulation of adsorption energy.

Objective: Surface electromyography (EMG) decomposition is crucial for identifying motor neuron activities by analyzing muscle-generated electrical signals. This study aims to develop and validate a novel motor unit action potential (MUAP)-based method for surface EMG decomposition, addressing the limitations of traditional blind source separation (BSS)-based techniques in computation complexity and motor unit (MU) tracking.
Methods: Within the framework of the convolution kernel compensation algorithm, we developed a MUAP-based decomposition algorithm by reconstructing the MU filters from MUAPs and evaluated its performance using both simulated and experimental datasets.
Background: Endogenous retroviruses (ERVs) enhance genetic diversity in vertebrates, including sheep. This study investigates the role of Ov-ERV-R13-CD36 within CD36 gene and its association with phenotypic traits in sheep. Analyzing 58 sheep genomes revealed that ERVs constitute approximately 6.

Methods: Based on the Four C database (between 2004 and 2018,n=63,926), patients with FIGO 2018 stage IA-IIA cervical adenocarcinoma and only one intermediate-risk pathological factor underwent open extensive hysterectomy. All patients were divided into three groups, namely, the simple surgery group (radical hysterectomy, RH), postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy group (radical hysterectomy and chemotherapy, RH + CT), and postoperative adjuvant chemoradiotherapy group (radical hysterectomy and radiotherapy/concurrent chemoradiotherapy, RH + RT/CCRT).
Background: Toxoplasma gondii is a single-cell parasite capable of infecting both humans and a variety of animal species. Although T. gondii infection is known to adversely affect the liver and gut microbiota, the precise interplay between the gut microbiome and the liver transcriptome in infected mice remains largely unknown.

Purpose: Emerging research indicates that viral infections may contribute to the development of certain vestibular disorders. This study aimed to explore the association of peripheral vestibular disorders (PVDs) with human papillomavirus (HPV) using a comprehensive population-based dataset from Taiwan's Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2010.
Methods: We examined a cohort comprising 94,215 patients with a new diagnosis of PVDs and 471,075 propensity-score matched controls, utilizing propensity score matching.
In this study, electronic nose, electronic tongue and solid-phase microextraction coupled with gas chromatography-olfactometry-mass spectrometry (SPME-GC-O-MS) were used to investigate the volatile flavor characteristics and the changing pattern of meat balls braised with brown sauce in prepared dishes during processing. A total of 13 volatile compounds were detected by combining the results of the OAVs and GC-O analyses using both methods. The detected volatile compounds were benzaldehyde, nonanal, (E)-2-octenal, citral, 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one, 1-octen-3-ol, eucalyptol, linalool, ethyl acetate, eugenol, d-limonene, anethole, and estragole.

Environmental pollution is a significant contributor to male infertility. Numerous environmental pollutants, such as PCB118, act as exogenous ligands for the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR). The majority of PTM cases are observed during the treatment of tuberculous pleural effusion(TPE), and although the precise pathogenesis remains unclear, there is a significant association between these two conditions. To identify high-risk factors for the development of PTM, we developed a clinical predictive model aimed at providing more insightful information for the development of PTM.

Head and neck reconstruction is among the most expensive types of surgery, requiring long operation time and hospital stays, with high complication rates. Enhanced recovery after surgery improves the quality of post-operative recovery. In this study, we evaluated and compared the costs and outcomes in patients who underwent free flap reconstruction after head and neck cancer surgery with or without enhanced recovery.
