Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Cheing-Mei Yu"

  • - Cheing-Mei Yu's research primarily focuses on the epidemiology and antimicrobial resistance of Streptococcus pneumoniae, particularly among children in northern Taiwan.
  • - In the study published in September 2003, Yu investigated the nasopharyngeal carriage rate of S. pneumoniae, revealing a concerning increase in multiple-antibiotic-resistant strains within the population.
  • - The research not only assessed the prevalence of these strains but also provided insights into their serotype distribution and antibiotic susceptibility, highlighting critical public health implications.
