Background: ADC (apparent coefficient diffusion) value has been known to predict hemorrhage transformation (HT) after thrombolysis and recently, after mechanical thrombectomy (MT). We aimed to evaluate that utility separately in basal ganglia and superficial territory. We used HT occurrence with or without NIHSS change as primary outcome measures.

Over the past several years, the adoption of HealthCare Monitoring Systems (HCS) in health centers and organizations like hospitals or eldery homes growth significantly. The adoption of such systems is revolutionized by a propelling advancements in IoT and Blockchain technologies. Owing to technological advancement in IoT sensors market, innovations in HCS to monitor patients health status have motivated many countries to strength their efforts to support their citizens with such care delivery systems under the directives of a physician who has access to patient's data.

Background And Purpose: In acute ischemic stroke, the negative susceptibility vessel sign on T2*-weighted images traditionally highlights fibrin-rich clots, which are particularly challenging to remove. In vitro, fast stent retrieval improves fibrin-rich clot extraction. We aimed to evaluate whether the speed of stent retrieval influences the recanalization and clinical outcome of patients presenting with the negative susceptibility vessel sign.

Background: Although the body mass index (BMI) is the most commonly used tool to assess the nutritional status of patients with active tuberculosis (TB), it does not assess changes in body composition. This study aims to assess the contribution of bioelectrical impedancemetry (BIA) for the assessment of body composition during the course of TB compared to BMI and to examine the associated factors.

Methods: Cross-sectional study carried out in patients with active TB at the pulmonology department of CHU la Rabta in Tunis, Tunisia.

Background: Dermatomycosis are fungal infections of the skin and/or phanera, which are often benign but can have an impact on the vital and functional prognosis in diabetic patients.

Aim: The aim of our work was to study the epidemiological, clinical and mycological profile of dermatomycosis in diabetic patients.

Methods: This was a retrospective descriptive study carried out in the Parasitology-Mycology Laboratory of Charles-Nicolle Hospital over a three-year period (2016-2018).

Supporting medical students involves two broad concepts that are often confused, namely tutoring and mentoring. These approaches, implemented in a heterogeneous way in medical schools, have been the topic of numerous publications. The objective of this update was therefore to define, then clarify, based on a literature review, the common characteristics and the differences between tutoring and mentoring in medical studies.

Background: Over the past few years, efforts have been made to ensure that the teachers of the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis (FMT) cite their affiliation to the FMT and the University of Tunis El Manar in addition to their hospital institutions and their research structure in their publications.

Aims: In this study, we proposed to evaluate the FMT's membership in the publications of its teachers, to identify the different types of publications and to estimate the real number.

Methods: In this bibliometric cross-sectional study, we retrieved the FMT publications indexed in medline/pubmed database (1964-June2019).

The main purpose of this work was to investigate some physiochemical and antioxidant properties of purified proteins of 18 kDa from black cumin seeds. The structural properties of purified proteins were characterized using Fourier Transform-Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy analysis. The Tunisian purified protein exhibited a α-helix structure and the Turkish purified protein adopted a β-sheet conformation.

Background: The prognosis of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with brain metastasis (BM) is dark. The aim of our study was to analyze the prognostic factors after the onset of BM and to evaluate the current management of BM.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study that included 100 patients diagnosed with primary NSCLC with BM.

Background: Inflammation markers have been shown to predict prognosis during cancer including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In particular, C-reactive protein (CRP) and Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) have been investigated. The aim of our work is to study the combination of these two markers in optimizing prognostication in advanced NSCLC.

In the present work, water-soluble polysaccharides were isolated from black cumin seeds. Polysaccharides were characterized by their carbohydrate composition, molecular weight, thermal stability and by FTIR, NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The surface, the functional and the antioxidant properties of black cumin water-soluble polysaccharides (BCWSP) were also investigated.
