Introduction: during laparoscopic surgery, carbon dioxide (CO) insufflation to create pneumoperitoneum increases blood pressure, heart rate and systemic vascular resistance. The purpose of our study was to investigate the efficacy of magnesium sulfate in preventing adverse hemodynamic reactions associated with pneumoperitoneum in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
Methods: we conducted a prospective, randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical study of patients scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy and divided into two equal groups: the Mg group received slow intravenous magnesium sulfate 50 mg/kg injection prior to pneumoperitoneum insufflation while the S group received the same volume of 0.
Introduction: postoperative sore throat (POST) is a common complication after general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation caused by tracheal mucosal injury. Multiple techniques prevent postoperative sore throat (POST). Our study aimed to compare two techniques: intravenous and intracuff lidocaine versus placebo to prevent postoperative sore throat after general anesthesia with orotracheal intubation.

We conducted a prospective randomized clinical trial involving patients who will undergo hip fracture surgery under SA and randomized into two groups: the PENG group: patients who received PENG block with 10 ml of 0.25% bupivacaine and 10 ml of 2% lidocaine and the SI-FICB group: patients who received SI-FICB block with the same solution.

Methods: we conducted a prospective randomized clinical trial that included elderly patients proposed for a scheduled surgery under general anesthesia with orotracheal intubation and divided into 2 groups: patients who were intubated using the McGrath® (group V) and patients who were intubated using the Macintosh direct laryngoscope (group M).
Introduction: the effect of intravenous corticosteroids on postoperative pain has been well demonstrated; however, few studies have focused on the efficacy of intraperitoneal corticosteroid use after laparoscopic surgery. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of intraperitoneal administration of dexamethasone on postoperative analgesia after laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
Methods: we conducted a prospective, randomised, double-blind, controlled study, including patients scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy and randomised into two groups: the group D (receiving 16 ml: 12 ml saline and 4 ml solution containing 16mg dexamethasone) and the group T (receiving 16 ml saline).
In children, osteomyelitis is common in the long bones of the femur and the tibia. However, talar osteomyelitis is extremely rare. The condition is difficult to diagnose due to the slow onset and atypical pattern of the symptom.

At that time, the patient did not have any signs of liver or lung involvement. She was successfully managed by a cemented revision hip arthroplasty without any signs of recurrence at the last follow-up of 5 years.

Early tracheal extubation (within the first 6 hours) is the cornerstone of fast-track surgery. Our study aimed to evaluate fast-track practice and early tracheal extubation in scheduled cardiac surgery for adult patients in our Institution.

Carotid injuries can be potentially life-threatening by hemorrhage and stroke. We present a case of a 26-year-old manual worker who presented a neck injury caused by a metallic projectile.

It occurs most often during vascular surgery or major digestive surgery, a polytrauma, in a context septic or in a context of shock. We report the case of a 74 year man who underwent surgery for femoral neck fracture.

Their management can be very challenging with unpredictable results. Literature analysis showed few articles about this complication, but no publication has described the management of open patella fracture around total knee arthroplasty.

Their prognosis depends essentially on the precociousness of the diagnosis. In most of the cases, the medical treatment associated with an irrigation drainage is sufficient.

Aim: To study the epidemiologic, clinical, biological, genetic, therapeutic and evolutionary characteristic of our patients.
Methods: We carried out a retrospective study concerning 11 hospitalized children and/or follow-ups with the service of pediatry of the CHU Hédi Chaker of Sfax for syndrome of Bardet-Biedl during a period of 21 years (1987-2007).

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility, efficacy and safety of the laporascopic treatment of perforated duodenal ulcer.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients who underwent laparoscopic treatment of perforated duodenal ulcer during the seven-year period from 2001 to 2007. The procedure included direct suture of the perforated ulcer followed by peritoneal lavage.
Introduction: Pelvic actinomycosis is a rare suppurative disease that should be included in the differential diagnosis of gynecological cancers.
Case Reports: We report two women aged 40 and 41 years with pelvic tumor-like actinomycosis. Physical examination disclosed a pelvic mass in both cases.

Since colonic tuberculosis is uncommon and its bifocal pseudo-tumor form is exceptional, differential diagnosis with the colonic cancer is exceedingly difficult. The purpose of this report is to describe a case of primary colonic tuberculosis in two separate locations discovered in a patient presenting with persistent massive hematochezia. A 69-year-old woman was examined for hematochezia, abdominal pain and recent weight loss.

We report SPT in two young females, revealed by abdominal pain and an epigastric mass. The diagnosis of a cystic tumor was based on abdominal ultrasound and CT data in the first case and on MRI in the second.
