Background: The Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH) has shown positive effects on various health factors that may be related to pancreatic steatosis (PS). This study aimed to investigate the association between adherence to the DASH diet and the risk of developing PS.
Methods: This case-control study was conducted on 278 patients diagnosed with gallstone disease and referred to Taleghani Hospital (Tehran, Iran).
Breast cancer continues to be a major global health challenge, driving the need for effective therapeutic strategies. Cisplatin, a powerful chemotherapeutic agent, is widely used in breast cancer treatment. However, its effectiveness is often limited by systemic toxicity and the development of drug resistance.

This study aimed to identify genes with potential therapeutic targets in TNBC. Data from the cancer genome atlas regarding breast cancer (BC) were downloaded.

The synthesis and improvement of new adsorbents to extract valuable compounds from industrial wastes and pregnant leach solutions, besides increasing wealth, can play a significant role in reducing environmental concerns. In this work, a new and low-cost adsorbent for the selective extraction of rhenium (perrhenate ions, ReO) was synthesized by the free-radical polymerization (FRP) of a diallyl dimethylammonium chloride monomer (quaternary amine) in the presence of a crosslinker.

Establishing an accurate diagnosis is important for effective genetic counseling and optimal patient management.
Objective: We studied the diagnostic value of whole exome sequencing (WES) in a small case series with hereditary ichthyosis.
Non-coding RNAs have shown key roles in cancer and among them, short RNA molecules are known as microRNAs (miRNAs). These molecules have length less than 25 nucleotides and suppress translation and expression. The functional miRNAs are produced in cytoplasm.

This study was a double-blind, parallel-arm randomized controlled trial conducted at Taleghani hospital, Tehran, Iran. Eligible subjects with a diagnosis of mild and moderate AP were randomly assigned to receive either two doses of nano-curcumin (40 mg) or placebo (control) daily for 2 weeks.

Micronutrient intake has been associated with the risk of UC, but the association has been inconsistent. Therefore, we performed a meta-analysis to clarify the overall association between micronutrient intake, as potentially modifiable risk factors, and the risk of UC.

Evidence suggests that dietary intake status may potentially be associated with depression. However, this association has not been well studied in older adults, and the nature of the association remains unclear.

They are recognizable when it is too late for treatment or prevention. General screening of newborns is effective in diagnosing congenital hypothyroidism and initiating initial treatment.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on senior dental students of all four dental schools in Tehran in 2017.
Objective: The WHO estimates the global incidence of death by drowning to be about 300 000 cases per year. The objective of this study was to estimate the trend in mortality due to drowning in all provinces of Iran in all age groups and both genders from 1990 to 2015.
Study Design: The National and Subnational Burden of Diseases (NASBOD) project is a comprehensive project in Iran.
In this paper, the effect of equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) on microstructure and mechanical properties of hypereutectic Al-20%MgSi and Al-15%MgSi, as well as hypoeutectic Al-10%MgSi composites has been investigated. After fabricating the composites by in-situ casting, the composites were processed using the ECAP process up to two passes at room temperature. Microstructural studies have been carried out using a field emission scanning electron microscopy equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer.

Method: Iranian Death Registration System, along with demographic (Complete and Summary Birth History, Maternal Age Cohort and Period methods) and statistical methods (Spatio-temporal and Gaussian process regression models) were used to address the incompleteness and misclassification and uncertainty of death registration system to estimate annual cirrhosis mortality rate.
Background: Gastrointestinal (GI) neoplasms are among the most common cancers in Iran. This study aimed to measure annual trends in mortality rates from GI cancers in Iran between 1990 and 2015.
Methods: This study was part of an ongoing study termed the 'National and Subnational Burden of Diseases' study in Iran.
Background: As the challenge for finding the best abdominal incision closure technique continues, surgeons are aiming to minimize postoperative wound complications such as wound dehiscence and hernia as an acute or late manifestation. In order to achieve this goal, several abdominal opening and closure techniques have been tried. In this article, we describe a method in which we used a nasogastric tube (NGT) in mass closure for patients with fascial dehiscence.

In this study, we aimed to estimate the level and trend of child mortality from 1990 to 2015 in Iran, to assess the progress of the country and its provinces toward these goals.
Methods: We used three different data sources: three censuses, a Demographic and Health Survey (DHS), and 5-year data from the death registration system.
Background: Causes of death statistics provide crucial health intelligence in national and international communities. An efficient death registration system provides reliable information for health policy system. In many developing countries, death registration systems face a degree of misclassification and incompleteness.

In 1984, the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) was launched in Iran as one of the main components of Primary Health Care (PHC).
Objectives: We aimed to investigate the burden of four vaccine-preventable diseases from 1990 to 2010 in Iran.
Purpose: To assess the safety and effectiveness of fluoroscopic guided brachial implanted central-venous miniport systems.
Patients And Methods: In 32 oncological patients a central-venous miniport system (Vital-Port, CPC-Cook) was implanted in the forearm. The group included 15 women and 17 men (range 33-78, mean 56 years).
