Background: Conflicting statements by stakeholders in obstetric care have suggested different criteria for defining peripartum fever and suspected intraamniotic infection, which have not been evaluated.
Methods: A case-control study of pregnancies between 35 and 41 weeks at a single tertiary care center between January 2016 and December 2017. Cases with pathology-confirmed chorioamnionitis were identified, and demographic data, risk factors, and neonatal outcomes were extracted from the medical record.
