Introduction: The megalencephaly capillary malformation polymicrogyria (MCAP syndrome) results from mosaic gain-of-function variants. The main clinical features are macrocephaly, somatic overgrowth, neurodevelopmental delay and brain anomalies. Alpelisib (Vijoice) is a recently FDA-approved PI3Kα-specific inhibitor for patients with PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum (PROS).

In this work, biochars were used as adsorbents to remove Cu, Cd, and Zn ions in a real stabilized leachate from a controlled landfill. Oak fruit shells biochar (OFSBC) and date palm fibers biochar (DPFBC) were obtained by pyrolysis of oak fruit shells and date palm fibers at 700 °C and 400 °C, respectively. OFSBC and DPFBC showed well-developed structures and high specific surface areas (520.

The aim of this work was to describe the epidemiological, clinical and evolutionary features of HF in a Tunisian university hospital.
Methods: This was a retrospective study including 350 hospitalised patients diagnosed with HF with reduced ejection fraction (≤ 40%) during the period between 2013 and 2017.
Activated carbons (AC) are widely used within the ventilation networks of nuclear facilities to trap volatile iodine species. In this paper, the performances of various commercial activated carbons towards the trapping of γ-labelled methyl iodide were evaluated in semi-pilot scale under different R.H.

By keeping the silver content rather similar (about 15-17 wt %) among the sorbents, it was possible to assess the effect of silver dispersion and speciation on the adsorption capacities measured for both adsorbates. In a first part, several characterization techniques (XRD, DRS-UV-Vis, TEM, etc.

Sex chromosomes may evolve reduced recombination around this locus and undergo a long process of molecular divergence. At that point, the original loci controlling sex may be difficult to pinpoint.

High-dimensional flow cytometric characterization of immune cell subsets was performed at admission, 30 systemic cytokines/chemokines levels were sequentially measured, thirteen endothelial markers were determined at admission and at the zenith of the cytokines. Computed tomography scans on admission were quantified for lung damage and hepatic steatosis (n = 23).

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate integrase inhibitor resistance in CSF, as a marker of the CNS, and compare it with the resistance in plasma.
Methods: HIV integrase was sequenced both in plasma and CSF for 59 HIV-1 patients.
Endogenous viruses form an important proportion of eukaryote genomes and a source of novel functions. How large DNA viruses integrated into a genome evolve when they confer a benefit to their host, however, remains unknown. Bracoviruses are essential for the parasitism success of parasitoid wasps, into whose genomes they integrated ~103 million years ago.

Different categories of tests were conducted from laboratory to semi-pilot scales. First, the effects of temperature and water vapour on the CHI retention/decomposition mechanism were investigated under lab-scale conditions.

Microsporidia are usually pathogenic and undergo horizontal transmission or a mix of horizontal and vertical transmission. However, cases of nonpathogenic microsporidia, strictly vertically transmitted from mother to offspring, have been reported in amphipod crustaceans.

For several years, environmental exogenous agents, called endocrine disruptors, are suspected to interfere with the essential functions of reproduction and development in many living organisms. In this study, endocrine disruptors including five phthalates and two bisphenols contents in finished products were assayed and their estrogenic activity were measured by using the Yeast Estrogen Screen system with respect to human and trout estrogen receptors hERα and rtER. Independently of the estrogen receptor, only short-chain phthalates (DBP and BBP) and the two bisphenols exhibited an estrogenic activity.

In our study, we describe the design, the synthesis, the preparation, and the characterization of AuNPs conjugated with the pyrazolo[3,4-]pyrimidine derivative SI306, a c-Src inhibitor. AuNPs-SI306 showed a good loading efficacy (65%), optimal stability in polar media and in human plasma, and a suitable morphological profile: a ζ-potential of -43.

Successful symbiosis relies on efficient vertical transmission through host generations. However, when symbionts negatively affect host fitness, hosts are expected to evolve suppression of symbiont effects or transmission.

Aim Of Study: to investigate the cardiac involvement in patients diagnosed with SLE assessed by echocardiography and to study relationship between several factors and cardiac manifestation .
Methods: retrospective study of 76 patients with diagnosis of SLE between 2008 and 2017.
The terrestrial isopod Armadillidium vulgare is an original model to study the evolution of sex determination and symbiosis in animals. Its sex can be determined by ZW sex chromosomes, or by feminizing Wolbachia bacterial endosymbionts. Here, we report the sequence and analysis of the ZW female genome of A.

The hybrid method B3LYP was employed, along with an ECP basis set such as LANL2DZ for halogen atoms (X = Cl, Br, I) and the 6-311 + G(d,p) basis set for all other atoms. In order to predict the specific site at which the pyrazole derivatives interact with halomethanes, local reactivity descriptors such as the Fukui functions were calculated.

In this study, up to 13 different silver zeolites sorbents were prepared by repeated ion exchange from their parent structures (FAU X and Y, MOR, *BEA, MFI, FER), characterized, and evaluated for their ability to capture methyl iodide in the context of a nuclear severe accident. A novel methodology was implemented to establish structure-activity relationships between sorbent properties and iodine trapping stability. After saturation of the zeolite bed with CHI during a dynamic breakthrough experiment at 100 °C, a two-step quantitative desorption method was elaborated with the aim to quantify separately the CHI fractions trapped by physisorption, chemisorption, or reacted as AgI precipitates.
