Bladder cancer is known as one of the top ten most common cancer types worldwide and can be majorly divided into muscles invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) and non-muscles invasive type (NMIBC). However, the prognosis of BC remains poor under standard treatment including radical cystectomy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Numerous studies have reported that the prognosis of BC is associated with the activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT3) and nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB).

Methods: We used the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database to conduct an observational population-based cohort study. All eligible patients who received transurethral procedures between January 2015 and September 2018 were enrolled.

Background/aim: AKT/ERK signaling transduction and anti-apoptosis effects have both been recognized as important mediators of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression. Targeting AKT/ERK signaling and mediating apoptosis may be beneficial for alleviating HCC growth. Lenvatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has been approved by the FDA to treat HCC since 2018 as a monotherapy with limited efficacy.
