Polycomb Repressive Complex 1 (PRC1) is a family of epigenetic regulators critical for mammalian development. Elucidating PRC1 composition and function across cell types and developmental stages is key to understanding the epigenetic regulation of cell fate determination. In this study, we discovered POGZ, a prominent Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) risk factor, as a novel component of PRC1.

Background: Frailty is associated with increased perioperative morbidity and mortality. How thoracic surgeons recognize, measure, and mitigate frailty in their daily clinical practice is unknown. We administered a national survey to determine the current practices of thoracic surgeons managing frail patients.

Areas Covered: This article reviews the existing evidence for using CAR-T therapy as a second-line treatment. Two major phase 3 trials, ZUMA-7 and TRANSFORM, have shown that axi-cel and liso-cel, respectively, offer superior outcomes compared to historical standard chemoimmunotherapy and consolidation with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HCT).
Health risk behaviors continue to disproportionately affect Hispanic youth. Despite the existence of successful family and school-based interventions, there is a need for developing and testing individually-based preventive interventions that are easily accessed and widely disseminated. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a prototype (proof of concept) for an individual-level mobile application (app), informed by Hispanic parents and adolescents, to prevent/reduce drug use and sexual risk behaviors among Hispanic youth.

Peer-led adjunctive interventions show promise for enhancing engagement in HIV prevention and care among LMSM, but their effectiveness and implementation remain underexplored. This scoping review aimed to map existing evidence on peer-led interventions, identify gaps, and inform future research for enhancing HIV prevention and care among LMSM.

We previously reported the strong synergism of this molecular system and now wish to present related stationary measurements of UV-Vis absorption, fluorescence, and fluorescence anisotropy in a polar, aprotic solvent (DMSO and a PBS buffer), followed by time-resolved fluorescence intensity and anisotropy decay studies using different ratios of the selected 1,3,4-thiadiazole derivative to Amphotericin B. Absorption spectra measured for the system revealed discrepancies in terms of the shapes of absorption bands, particularly in PBS.

However, few studies have examined patient-reported outcomes (PROs) or neurocognitive performance in patients treated with axi-cel. Moreover, no longitudinal PRO study has reported on patients treated with axi-cel as standard of care in the United States, to our knowledge.

Recently, under Section 24(c) of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), a special local need label was approved that allows the trunk injection of antimicrobials such as oxytetracycline (OTC) for HLB management in Florida.

The most broadly accepted etiology is that uterine endometrial cells retrogradely enter the peritoneum during menses, and implant and form invasive lesions in a process analogous to cancer metastasis. However, over 90% of women suffer retrograde menstruation, but only 10% develop endometriosis, and debate continues as to whether the underlying defect is endometrial or peritoneal.

Nuclear explosions immediately cause radiological damage and destruction of infrastructure. This hydro-magnetic shock propagation due to blast gives rise to simultaneous signals around the world.

Here, we use monarch butterflies (Danaus plexippus), specialist herbivores that feed as larvae on many species of chemically well-defined milkweed plants (Asclepias sp.), to investigate the impacts of development and diet on the composition of the gut microbial community.

To date, knowledge is limited about practices involved in structuring and operating EOCs at public offices of emergency management (OEMs) and influencing factors. Through surveys and analysis of organizational documents, this study examines the models used by OEMs and the factors that influence the choice of models and organizational perception of the effectiveness of the employed models.

Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) is a key node mediating signal transduction downstream of the BCR. The advent of BTK inhibitors has revolutionized the treatment landscape of B cell malignancies, with these agents often replacing highly intensive and toxic chemoimmunotherapy regimens as the standard of care.

Cellular functional pathways have evolved through the selection of protein intra- and intermolecular interactions collectively referred to as the interactome. In the present work, quantitative in vivo protein cross-linking and mass spectrometry were used to probe large-scale protein interactome differences among three commonly employed human cell lines, namely, HEK293, MCF-7, and HeLa cells.

We have developed an implantable biosensor to detect dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S), a biomarker related to stress. The biosensor strategy was based on the principle of forced intercalation (FIT) aptamers designed to detect subtle intramolecular changes during aptamer-target binding events.
