Conversely, men encounter limitations due to restrictive paternity leave policies, often receiving undue praise for basic parenting duties. Through the lens of the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer's clinical fellows 2023/24, we explore the question: 'Can you have it all?'
Methods: We explore stereotypical gender norms alongside the challenges and expectations faced by individuals of all genders on their leadership journeys.
Objective: To evaluate the viability of robot-assisted appendiceal ureteroplasty as an innovative surgical approach for the reconstruction of ureteral strictures in cases where traditional methods are unsuitable.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of 14 patients who underwent robot-assisted appendiceal ureteroplasty for right-sided ureteral stricture disease at three academic centers between March 2018 and November 2022. Patients were selected based on stricture characteristics, tissue quality, and the need for tissue transfer techniques.
This paper seeks to address the question of what gerontologists and humanities scholars can learn from how their respective fields engage with critical issues of age-based intersectional disadvantage, inequality, colonialism, and exclusion. The paper considers the Uncertain Futures Project, a participatory arts-led social research study based in Manchester, United Kingdom. The project explores the inequalities of women over 50 regarding issues of work using an intersectional lens.

The number of people afflicted with this dysautonomia has increased dramatically in recent years due to the long-term effects of coronavirus disease (COVID-19); however, it is largely underdiagnosed. This case report is about a patient with post-viral neuropathic POTS.

We present a unique case of COVID-19 associated with both acute myocardial infarction and new-onset atrial fibrillation (AFIB) in an elderly lady which is the first reported case to the best of our knowledge. The patient was symptomatic with acute COVID-19 and developed a type 2 myocardial infarction with new-onset AFIB.

We used New York State Medicaid data (2014-2019) to measure the effects of the rule leak (January 2017) on Medicaid enrollment, health care utilization, and severe maternal morbidity among women who joined Medicaid during their pregnancies and on the birth weight of their newborns. We repeated our analyses using simulated measures of citizenship status.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) manifests as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), progressing to pulmonary embolism (PE). Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is the preferred therapeutic option as it provides vascular disobliteration.

Nevertheless, only a subset of patients benefit, even when selected based on approved biomarkers such as PD-L1 and tumor mutational burden. New biomarkers are needed to maximize the therapeutic ratio of these therapies.

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) from ventricular fibrillation (VF) can occur in mitral valve prolapse (MVP) in the absence of other comorbidities including mitral regurgitation, heart failure or coronary disease. Although only a small proportion with MVP are at risk, it can affect young, otherwise healthy adults, most commonly premenopausal women, often as the first presentation of MVP. In this review, we discuss arrhythmic mechanisms in MVP and mechanistic approaches for sudden death risk assessment and prevention.

Objective: To assess the definition and treatment of oligometastatic oesophagogastric cancer across multidisciplinary tumour boards (MDTs) in Europe.
Material And Methods: European expert centers (n = 49) were requested to discuss 15 real-life cases in their MDT with at least a medical, surgical, and radiation oncologist present.
Aim: Guidelines benefit patients and clinicians by distilling evidence into easy-to-read recommendations. The literature around the management of haemorrhoids is immense and guidelines are invaluable to improve treatment integrity and patient outcomes. We identified current haemorrhoid guidelines and assessed them for quality and consistency.

Two regimens with proven survival benefits are epirubicin, cisplatin plus capecitabine or fluorouracil (Medical Research Council Adjuvant Gastric Infusional Chemotherapy, MAGIC) and fluorouracil plus leucovorin, oxaliplatin, and docetaxel (FLOT). This study aimed to compare the effect of these regimens on survival (primary aim) and pathological response, surgical complications, adverse events and chemotherapy completion rates.

Public involvement must be diverse and inclusive to enable research that has the potential to reach those that stand to benefit from it the most, and thus address issues of health equity. Several recent reports, however, indicate that public involvement is exclusive, including in its interactions with ethnic groups.
