Herein, a self-supported carbon network is designed through the sole pyrolysis of Carica papaya seeds (biomass) without any activation agent, demonstrating their field emission and supercapacitor applications. The pyrolysis of seeds in an argon atmosphere leads to the formation of interconnected, rod-like structures. Furthermore, the hydrofluoric acid treatment not only removed impurities, but also resulted in the formation of CaF nanocrystals with the addition of F-doping.

Hardware neural networks with mechanical flexibility are promising next-generation computing systems for smart wearable electronics. Overcoming the challenge of developing a fully synaptic plastic network, we demonstrate a low-operating-voltage PET/ITO/p-MXene/Ag flexible memristor device by controlling the etching of aluminum metal ions in TiCT MXene. The presence of a small fraction of Al ions in partially etched MXene (p-TiCT) significantly suppresses the operating voltage to 1 V compared to 7 V from fully Al etched MXene (f-TiCT)-based devices.

A considerable but ill-defined proportion of patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) experience persistent cognitive sequelae; the ability to identify such individuals early can help their neurorehabilitation.
