Episodic autobiographical memories are characterized by a spatial context and an affective component. But how do affective and spatial aspects interact? Does affect modulate the way we encode the spatial context of events? We investigated how one element of affect, namely aesthetic liking, modulates memory for location, in three online experiments ( = 124, 79, and 80). Participants visited a professionally curated virtual art exhibition.

Genetically distinct benign lagoviruses (Hare Calicivirus, HaCV) have recently been identified but few data have been available so far on these strains.

In the dairy industry that is concerned by fungal spoilage, biopreservation can also be an alternative to preservatives currently used (e.g.

The first full-genome sequence of a hare calicivirus (HaCV), recently characterized as a novel member of the , is described. This presumed nonpathogenic lagovirus is 7,433 nucleotides long, shows the same genomic organization as that of other lagoviruses, and has the highest nucleotide identity (79%) with pathogenic European brown hare syndrome viruses.

To develop antifungal cultures for the dairy product biopreservation, experiments were conducted both and . Firstly, the antifungal activity of 32 strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and propionibacteria was screened alone, and then on combinations based on 5 selected lactobacilli strains.

We investigated the accuracy of genomic estimated breeding values (GEBV) in four inter-related synthetic populations that underwent several cycles of recurrent selection in an upland rice-breeding program. A total of 343 S2:4 lines extracted from those populations were phenotyped for flowering time, plant height, grain yield and panicle weight, and genotyped with an average density of one marker per 44.

The treatment of cancer by antisense anti-IGF-I cellular therapy inducing immune response has evoked interest among many promising strategies. Here, we reported some results obtained from patients with cancer, mainly glioblastoma treated by this strategy, which was also extended to patients with colon carcinoma, ovary cystadenocarcinoma and prostate adenocarcinoma. It was shown that, in the phase I of clinical trial, patients vaccinated with their own tumour cells treated by antisense IGF-I presented a slight increase of temperature.

Transient neonatal myasthenia gravis (TNMG) and neonatal lupus are rare conditions due to the transplacental passage of antibodies. We describe a unique case of TNMG, revealing a myasthenia gravis (MG) associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in the mother. J.

Methods: Hospital-based case series. All cases of Fusarium keratitis diagnosed in Department of Ophthalmology of the Centre Hospitalier National d'Ophtalmologie des Quinze-Vingts in Paris were reviewed from January 2004 through November 2006.
Dysembryoplastic neuro-epithelial tumors (DNET) are glioneuronal tumors with a common astrocytic or oligodendroglial differentiation. We report a case of DNET with an ependymal differentiation. A 13 years-old girl had refractory focal seizures for 3 years.

However, nothing is known regarding a possible relation between PB-MNC-CD34+ mobilization and neurological recovery in human acute cerebral ischemia.
Methods And Results: PB-MNC-CD34+ were determined daily after an acute cerebral ischemic attack for 14 days in 25 patients with acute ischemic stroke and compared with controls.
Growth factors such as insulin-like growth factor type I (IGF-I), epidermal growth factor (EGF), vascular-endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) are present during the development of the CNS. When they reappear in the mature brain they are overexpressed in neoplastic glia, participating in the development of the most common human brain malignant tumor, glioblastoma multiforme, which is invariably fatal. Progress in treatment of this disease involves an increase in median survival from 8 to 11 months to an average of 15 months, rarely to 18 months.

In heart, this axis seems to play a key role in cardiogenesis and is involved in the neovascularization of ischemic tissues. Rats have three known CXCL12 mRNA isoforms, of which only alpha and gamma are present in the normal heart.

Introduction: Decompression sickness with cerebral ischemic lesions occurs even in divers who have not committed any technical error. This study sought to determine whether an acquired or inborn thrombophilic factor might be involved.
Methods: 44 divers with ischemic medullar lesions (36 men, 8 women, mean age 39.
Muir-Torre syndrome is an autosomal dominant hereditary condition predisposing to cancer. It is characterized by cutaneous tumors (such as sebaceous adenomas, epitheliomas, or carcinoma, and/or keratoacanthomas) and internal malignancies. A 47-year-old male patient with cancer antecedents consulted for two tumors of the eyelid.

Deficiency of carnitine may play a role by reducing energy production through fatty acid oxidation and numerous MS therapies can induce fatigue syndrome. The aim of this prospective open-labelled study was to collect and study serum carnitine levels in MS patients with and without disease-modifying treatment-induced fatigue syndrome.

Unlabelled: In divers with a vascular disease in decompression sickness, who have not committed any technical error, thrombophilic risk factors were sought. Six cases of confirmed divers, without diving technical error, were investigated. Thrombophilic screening included proteins C, S, antithrombin III, and factor VIII assays, and circulating antibodies, Factor V Leiden, and mutation G20210A mutation in Factor II gene research.
