Characterization Study of Patients Presenting to an Acute Care Pediatric Hospital Identified With Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder.

Objectives: Nearly one-quarter of individuals diagnosed with avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) require medical admission. There have been efforts to characterize ARFID in outpatient and intensive day treatment settings; however, authors of few studies have examined this presentation in the inpatient pediatric hospital setting. In this study, we aim to further characterize patients presenting to the hospital with concerns for ARFID.
