Background: Physiological changes associated with ageing could negatively impact the crisis resource management skills of acute care physicians. This study was designed to determine whether physician age impacts crisis resource management skills, and crisis resource management skills learning and retention using full-body manikin simulation training in acute care physicians.
Methods: Acute care physicians at two Canadian universities participated in three 8-min simulated crisis (pulseless electrical activity) scenarios.
Background: Health care decision makers are often concerned about the external validity of randomized controlled trials (RCTs), as their results may not apply to certain patients in the real world who intend to receive treatment.
Objective: To demonstrate a methodology for assessing the generalizability of clinical trial results to a real-world population, before sufficient and appropriate real-world effectiveness data are available, using individual patient-level data from an RCT and aggregated baseline data from a real-world French registry in migraine.
Methods: The analyses were conducted in 2 steps.

Methods: A retrospective, observational study was conducted in France using primary care IQVIA electronic medical records.
Aim: The objective of the CRASH (Conversations and Reactions Around Severe Hypoglycemia) survey was to further our understanding of the characteristics, experience, behavior and conversations with healthcare professionals (HCPs) of people with diabetes (PWD) receiving insulin, and of caregivers (CGs) caring for such people, concerning hypoglycemia requiring external assistance (severe hypoglycemic events [SHEs]).
Methods: CRASH was an online cross-sectional survey conducted across eight countries. PWD with self-reported type 1 (T1D) or insulin-treated type 2 (T2D) diabetes were aged≥18 years and had experienced one or more SHEs in the past 3 years; CGs were non-medical professionals aged ≥18 years, caring for PWD meeting all the above criteria except for PWD age (≥4 rather than ≥18 years).
Capillary electrophoresis (CE) was hyphenated to multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS) to determine the model age of a highly enriched uranium (HEU) sample using the U/Th radiochronometer. The use of hydroxymethylbutyric acid (HMBA) as the CE electrolyte was investigated, and a complexation stacking method was developed to increase the thorium signal obtained. The age of the material was determined by measuring the Th content of the HEU sample using isotope dilution in conjunction with the CE-MC-ICP-MS protocol.

In particular, the effect of the U uptake on the homeostatic modulation of several endogenous elements (Mg, P, Mn, Fe, Zn, and Cu), the U isotopic fractionation upon its incorporation by the cells and the evolution of the intracellular Cu and Zn isotopic signatures were studied. The intracellular accumulation of U was accompanied by a preferential uptake of U for cells exposed to 1 and 10 µM of U, whereas no significant isotopic fractionation was observed between the extra- and the intracellular media for higher exposure U concentrations.

The study of the isotopic fractionation of endogen elements and toxic heavy metals in living organisms for biomedical applications, and for metabolic and toxicological studies, is a cutting-edge research topic. This paper shows that human neuroblastoma cells incorporated small amounts of uranium (U) after exposure to 10 µM natural U, with preferential uptake of the U isotope with regard to U.
