Introduction: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) poses a significant challenge in cancer patients, particularly those with advanced malignancies. The management of recurrent VTE is complicated by the need for effective anticoagulation while addressing the underlying cancer progression.

Cases: We present two clinical cases from the gastroenterology department at Percy French military hospital involving patients with progressive malignant digestive diseases.

Introduction: Pinhole intraocular lenses (IOLs) were developed to improve reading by compensating for loss of accommodative function. The IC-8 Apthera™ is a small-aperture presbyopia-correcting IOL that combines the proven principle of small-aperture optics with an aspheric monofocal lens to deliver a continuous range of vision for patients with cataracts from distance to near vision. Posterior capsule opacification is the most common sequela after cataract surgery.

Article Synopsis
  • - A 56-year-old woman was treated for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and had a condition called monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), eventually undergoing an allogeneic stem cell transplant after achieving second complete remission.
  • - Four years post-transplant, her MGUS progressed to multiple myeloma, leading to intensive treatment with an autologous stem cell transplant after successfully mobilizing stem cells.
  • - The report highlights two key points: the graft versus leukemia effect successfully cured her AML but was ineffective against the myeloma, and it was possible to mobilize stem cells for autologous transplantation after an allogeneic transplant.

Introduction: Altered motor control and proprioceptive deficits are associated with kinematics dysfunctions and may cause alterations in subacromial space (SAS) that could lead to shoulder pathologies. Dimensions of the subacromial space, as well as interventions aimed at its normal restitution, can be explored by ultrasound (US).

Objective: To describe the effect of two shoulder girdle motor control exercises with cognitive training strategies on SAS dimensions, measured with US.

Background: Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) remains associated with very high mortality. Accelerating the initiation of efficient cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is widely perceived as key to improving outcomes. The main goal was to determine whether identification and activation of nearby first responders through a smartphone application named Staying Alive (SA) can improve survival following OHCA in a large urban area (Paris).

Aim: The detection of cardiac arrests by dispatchers allows telephone-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (t-CPR) and improves Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) survival. To enhance the OHCA detection rate, in 2012, the Paris Fire Brigade dispatch center created an original technique called "Hand On Belly" (HoB). The new algorithm that resulted has become a central point in a broader program for dispatch-assisted cardiac arrests.

Introduction: Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) is less common than non-Hodgkin lymphoma and is rarely associated with autoimmune cytopenia.

Method: We report a consecutive, monocentric and retrospective series of HL patients diagnosed with concomitant or subsequent autoimmune cytopenia over a period of 8 years.

Results: We report 4 out of 84 HL patients (4.

Background: Tools for differentiating aggressive and indolent prostate carcinoma (PCa) are needed. Mathematical modeling is a promising approach for longitudinal analysis of tumor marker kinetics.

Patients And Methods: The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) increases from patients with PCa and those with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) were retrospectively analyzed using a mathematical model.

Purpose: The sarcoidosis-lymphoma syndrome is a recognised entity. However, the presence of granulomas in patients with a haematological disease should not lead too easily to a diagnosis of sarcoidosis. The presence of granulomatous lesions during the follow-up of these patients raises diagnostic and therapeutic issues.

Introduction: The association granulomatosis - combined variable immunodeficiency (CVID) - is well known from the clinicians. However, the association with a large granular lymphocyte (LGL) leukemia has not been yet reported.

Case Report: We report a 50-year-old woman, followed for CVID associated with a granulomatous disease.

Introduction: Harlequin phenomenon is characterized by a strictly unilateral erythrosis of the face with flushing and hyperhydrosis, and controlaterally a pale anhydrotic aspect. This syndrome can occur alone or associated to other dysautonomic phenomena such as Horner syndrome, Adie syndrome or Ross syndrome.

Patients And Methods: We report three cases: two patients presented a Harlequin sign, associated with Horner syndrome for one and Ross syndrome for the second.

Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (Marchiafava-Micheli disease) is a rare acquired clonal disorder of the hematopoietic cell, to a somatic mutation in the phosphatidylinositol glycan (PIG-A). The most frequent clinical manifestations are hemolytic crisis and venous thrombosis of the mesenteric, hepatic, portal or cerebral territories. We report a case of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria with renal vein thrombosis, a rare complication of this disease.

Introduction: The sensitivity of the detection of irregular antibodies (DIA) is one of the fundamental basis of transfusion safety. The production of alloantibodies is the first cause of adverse events following transfusion.

Case Report: We report a 77-year-old woman who was transfused and presented with a delayed haemolytic anemia due to anti-JK1 alloimmunization.
