Exhibiting lived experiences of disability in a hospital workplace: A qualitative evaluation.

Background: Beyond the Stigma (BTS) was an exhibition of stories about staff with physical and hidden impairments at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham, UK.

Objective: Evaluative research aimed to examine BTS's long-term impact on participants who publicly shared lived experiences of disability in their hospital workplace. It also sought to discover how arts-based interventions can effectively identify and promote nuanced disability understandings and the wellbeing of disabled people working in healthcare.

Assessing and managing open fractures: a systematic approach.

Open fractures are complex injuries strongly associated with high-energy trauma. Assessment should include the mechanism and place of injury, timing, associated injuries and comorbidities. The initial management of these fractures, whether in the prehospital setting or emergency department, must include the following in a prompt manner: administration of antibiotics and tetanus prophylaxis, photography, reduction or re-alignment, wound coverage and splintage.

The e-scooter pandemic at a UK Major Trauma Centre: A cost-based cohort analysis of injury presentation and treatment.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to describe injuries related to electric scooter at a Major-Trauma-Centre in the UK, We reviewed data from January 2020-December 2020.

Methods: All patient-records mentioning electric-scooter at a major-MTC. Records were reviewed, and data were stratified according to two groups: electric scooter riders and other road users.

Medical leadership training varies substantially between UK medical schools: Report of the leadership in undergraduate medical education national survey (LUMENS).

Background: Doctors are increasingly expected to demonstrate medical leadership and management (MLM) skills. The Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM) has published an indicative undergraduate curriculum to guide the development of MLM content at UK medical schools.

Method: Students from 30 medical schools were surveyed to determine their understanding of MLM teaching at their school.
