Care pathways for total knee arthroplasty (TKA) demonstrate improved quality and utilization outcomes. Standardizing these processes over large systems is difficult due to the variability of practice patterns and the complexity of multistep pathways. A simplified approach to this process focusing on early activity and avoidance of continuous urinary catheters was performed to overcome these perceived barriers for implementing a system-wide care pathway.
